Default HSCC Autocross (Asheville, NC) Sept 12th

Since no one has actually posted about this yet, there is an autocross tomorrow in Asheville, NC (at Biltmore Square Mall which is at exit 33 (old exit 2) off of I-26) put on by the Highlands Sports Car Club.

I know I'll be there and it sounds like some of the Charlotte folks may be there as well.

I will be there to observe. Some of those Florida people will likely be there too. I believe they will be entering a U-Haul truck...with Scoobysouth's valuables in the back.

Have fun guys, won't be able to attend. We are working straight through to get caught up so that we have some turbos to take with us to the NOPI show next weekend.

You would most likely want to be there no later than about 9am.

Since the people who weren't there have no clue what we are talking about, let's just say that ignoring go-karts, the only car to outrun me was a supercharged race-prepped E-Mod Miata on Hoosiers.

I had some comments, but I'll skip the DG-bashing for now...

Like I've mentioned in the past, there are enough Street Prepared power mods that I haven't done to this car (ECU, .020" overbore, high-flow cat or track pipe, full intake (yes, I'm still running just a panel filter... ), ported/polished intake manifold, etc.) that with a few of them combined would easily equal the power the cams added, so the car *is* practically a DSP car after all...hehe

I plan to change that with a few more not-SP legal mods before long, though.

Congrats to Dale for thoroughly thrashing STS (2nd place was 1.3 seconds back)!

Bah. Look at his runs; on his 3rd run he got a fast time, then just kept getting close to it the rest of the time. If he kept matching the same time, he was sandbagging.

It was a hard course for turbo's. Just a little more and I would have had Steven.

Shane did a great job today. Steven took one look at the course and said that if Shane didn't beat us today, he should be slapped.

I do want to thank all the folks who helped me in replacing wheel studs (3 of them) before the event.

Dang Kent, what's up with you and wheel studs? I remember doing the same before a nite series event a few years ago.

Sounds like a fun event. It looks like there is a lot of new blood in HSCC -- I didn't recognise 2/3 of the names on the results. So when is the next nite series event? It might be time to schedule a little weeknight road trip soon...

Kent has always had "stud performance issues."

And, I still can't believe that Steven never discovered that potato we put in his tailpipe.

The extreme G forces that I corner at just keep shredding the front wheel studs.

Last night series of the season is October 19th.

Thankfully Shane took SM so no slapping required. Instead you guys got a spanking.
