I don't have a picture because it won't happen for like a month, but imagine 2 windows and a bathroom update. Home ownership is ever so exciting. (Side note: the house I bought has all new replacement windows they did during a previous update, except for 2. No idea why just those 2 windows went untouched, because they replaced a slider mere feet away and, like, literally all the other windows)

Luckily no. But the total cost is certainly a substantial figure.

I'm by no means doing a gut job on the house but I've already done a new hot water heater and went from 100amp to 200 amp. Plus painted (ongoing) and installing all new railings. Also did a chalkboard paint on one wall of the kitchen so my daughter can do drawings on it and stuff.

My bank account hates me.

Good replacement windows aka replacing the frame and all costs a butt ton of you don't want to be replacing them again in 10 yrs or less.

I just ordered a cheap 3D printer. The Creality Ender 3 is on sale for $199 shipped on their website. My plan is to use it to learn on then print out the parts to build a CNC machine, the MPCNC.

much fun, such insulation.

finishing this unfinished room is destroying my 'budget'

a large room in my house has been unfinished since 1997. No insulation or hvac, no ceiling, barely a light, one outlet, no real windows, plywood floor. You get the idea. I decided, hey, let's get this 700sf room finished, easy peasy. I'll do it myself! **** is expensive, yo.

Uniden R3 Radar detector.

Last radar detector I purchased was easily mid/early 2000's Passport 8500. It's been a huge step up to a modern GPS radar, it's nice.

The imputes of the purchase was the wife's Edge ST that she got 3-4 months ago, she got pulled over for speeding last week so we ordered her one and then she got me one for fathers day since I commented on how fancy and modern it was compared to my old one.

Bought this the other day on the cheap from a local seller. I've wanted one of these forever, so I'm glad to finally have it!

At least you won't have to play GTA in the garage, right?

ha, true. Though at this point I play in the office, but that's right next to Liv's room, so I cant get too loud. In this new room I can scream and holler and carry on. So that will be fun.

Do they even LIDAR, bro? Last time I got a ticket was with LIDAR and the cop told me, "Yeah, that radar detector there? It is just going to tell you that you've been caught with LIDAR. You won't have enough time to react." So, I quit buying radar detectors after that and just drive 5 over the limit everywhere.

Wow, I had completely forgotten that I used to have a radar detector in HS. Think I bought it used from one of my buddies. Don't think it ever saved me from a ticket but that was so long ago, who knows. It made beep sounds and lights flashed, though! At this age, just don't drive like a jackass.

Laser is a thing, and yeah it's hard to detect before it's too late. But, it's still a small percentage of traffic enforcement compared to Ka band radar. It can also only be used when stationary, so that's the easiest way to look out for it.

The state police here in Illinois use it, but they're shooting it so far away on a tripod you can't see them yet. My experience was exactly aod's - my laser alert went off, and I was very confused as to why. It was close to 2 miles later that I got to the overpass where they were measuring from. Group of cars on the on-ramp on the other side picking everyone up as we came past.

My radar has saved me from countless tickets over the years. The old Passport 8500 still worked good. My only complaint was the false alerts from newer cars's with radar collision sensors. Driving near a newer BMW or Benz would often set it off.

That said, the few speeding tickets I have gotten were deserved and even with the radar, I was driving too fast regardless. 1 of the tickets I was late for an appointment and going crazy, I look up in the mirror and the trooper was pacing me on the highway, so yeah, he didn't need radar.

Most places in WI you're safe at 14 over*. They won't bother until they can get you for the big point ticket at 15 over.

*Offer not valid on 90/94 north of Madison or 41 between Menomonee Falls and Appleton.
