I used to feel I got a bit of a raw deal around my high school years. There's not many days that go by where I find another reason to realize I might have just been a lil' bitch. Sometimes it's things like my parents not killing me and chopping me up that lets me know things were pretty good.

A dismembered body found in Baltimore leads to arrest, more questions
Jessica Anderson
5-6 minutes

A weekslong quest to identify a woman who was found covered in garbage inside a Baltimore shopping cart — her hands, feet, lower legs and head all missing — led police to the woman’s father: a Baltimore man previously convicted of murdering his own son and another man.

Lawrence Banks, 65, of the 4000 block of Clarks Lane, has not been charged in connection with the death of his daughter, Dominique Foster, 43, although the gruesome killing figures prominently in a probable cause affidavit released Friday. Banks is charged only with illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition recovered from his Northwest Baltimore apartment on Wednesday as police investigated Foster’s death.

Banks appeared on a video feed in district court Friday and was ordered held without bail by Judge Michael Stephen Studdard. Foster’s death was not mentioned in the court proceeding, but court records from the gun case focus almost exclusively on her death.

Foster’s body was found May 12 wrapped up and placed inside of a shopping cart at the Clarks Lane Garden Apartments. A nearby resident told responding officers she did not see anything out of the ordinary but heard some arguing on the night of May 10. A security camera video from that day obtained by police showed a man with a limp in a white jacket and hoodie wheeling a shopping cart toward the lot where Foster was found.

In May, police distributed images of the woman’s tattoos to local media, hoping it would help identify her. But police never mentioned the dismemberment.

Then on Wednesday, members of Foster’s family called detectives and positively identified Foster’s tattoos. They said Banks and Foster were father and daughter and lived together in the apartment adjacent to the crime scene.

Police then obtained a warrant and searched Banks’ apartment in the Glen neighborhood. Detectives found blood, computers, cellphones, counterfeit money, a yellow raincoat, a pair of boots and a .380 caliber handgun with five bullets in the magazine, according to the affidavit.

From the archives: Killer Lawrence Banks casts a shadow of violence »

One of Dominique Foster’s daughters, who did not want to be named because she feared for her safety, described her mother as a loving, caring and happy person.

“We’re just in disbelief. I still feel like she’s going to call me,” the woman said. “She was everything. She was my best friend.”

Foster’s family described her on an online fundraiser as a mother of six and “absolutely beautiful inside and out. Her heart was pure as gold, everyone that knew her adored her.”

The fundraiser is to cover the family’s funeral expenses.

“Police discovered her lifeless body on Mother’s Day. My siblings and I want to give her a proper burial for a last Mothers Day gift,” they wrote.

According to the affidavit, one of Dominique Foster’s daughters told police about Banks’ criminal past.

Court records show that in 1976, Banks was sentenced to 15 years in prison for throwing a 7-month-old baby through a glass door during an argument with his wife, Vivian Banks. Shortly before that case went to trial Vivian Banks was found dead in an East Baltimore apartment. Her body was so decomposed that the medical examiner could not determine a cause of death.

No one has been charged in Vivian Banks’ death.

Lawrence Banks was convicted of two other killings. Prosecutors said he shot a friend in Pasadena and then his own son in Baltimore on the same day in 1991, according to court records. Prosecutors said Banks was angry because his son and one of his daughters accused him of abusing them.

Banks was convicted of the murders and released from prison in 2002 after receiving “good time credits.”

But allegations of violence continued. In 2006, his then-girlfriend's daughter, Lisa Laverne Brown, filed a protective order, claiming she feared Banks. Brown and her daughter, Labria, were killed days later in Laurel.

Prince George's County police questioned Banks, and asked Banks' parole agent to find violations that could keep him behind bars as they built a case.

Police never found enough evidence to charge him with the murders, but the Maryland parole commission returned him to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence, calling him a threat to others. He was released again in 2014.

A public defender told the judge that Banks is a father of six with a master’s degree from Towson University. He is a retired housing inspector and lives off his Social Security payments. She said Banks volunteers at the Baltimore Station for Veterans, a city anti-violence group, and is a member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Northwest Baltimore.

Banks, who has short-cropped hair and wore a yellow jumpsuit, stood at the end of the hearing and asked the judge to reconsider and grant him release on bail. He said the gun belonged to a relative, but the judge would not budge.

DIY SOS Women are VACUUMING their vaginas to stop their periods – but risk severe injuries, docs warn

THERE'S no doubt about it - all women want their periods over and done in a flash.

But some are taking matters into their own - dangerous - hands, by vacuuming their vaginas in the hope it will speed up the course of nature.

And unsurprisingly, it's landing them in A&E.

One nurse in the US has taken to Twitter to warn women to "stop using your vacuum hose to end your period early".

She wrote: "You're gonna wind up sucking out a lot more than blood!

"There were two cases of this so far this week and both women had to be admitted. Just...STOP!"
Forums dedicated to bizarre idea
It might sound absolutely bizarre (and painful) but there are forums dedicated to "menstrual extraction", or ME.

ME works by creating a vacuum that suctions out the contents of the uterus through the cervix and is a black market or alternative practice for abortions in countries where abortion is illegal.

It's been around since the 1970s when women's rights activist, Lorraine Rothman, adapted the abortion method to be used as a way of getting rid of menstrual blood.

But the practice doesn't use an actual vacuum cleaner - it's supposed to be done using a device called a Del-Em, which is essentially a series of thin tubes, a pump and a bottle.

The contraption is used to create a vacuum.

It's likely the women hospitalised for vacuuming their vaginas misunderstood that word to mean a vacuum cleaner, rather than a space without oxygen.

Like home abortions, which have killed millions of women denied access to legal terminations across the world, doctors have warned the idea of vacuuming out your period - whatever tool you use - is a bad one.

'Utterly bizarre' procedure risks severe injury

As well as general trauma and shock, you run the risk of infection, puncturing your uterus, and worsening symptoms, one expert told The Sun.

Obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Shazia Malik said: "It's dangerous in so many ways and an utterly bizarre concept that won't work but might do serious harm."

What kind of harm?

"Vaginal laceration, damage to the cervix and life-threatening infection from the germs on the hose," Dr Malik said.

If you've got a really heavy period, don't try to suck it out - you've got to look into why you're bleeding so much.

You might have PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, or worst-case scenario, cervical cancer.

And if the risk of getting a nasty infection doesn't put you off, just imagine having parts of your vagina ripped out by a Dyson cleaner.

The nurse, who tweets as @OdesseyT99, said that the women "used the suction hose to suck out their periods hoping to end them early".

She added: "They both sent themselves into shock instead."

Everyone's period has a flow of its own and happens at a rate their body can tolerate.

"A vacuum increases that flow over a 1000 times which your body can't tolerate, therefore sending you into shock," the nurse explained.
I call BS on this one....todays women don´t even know how to proper use a vacuum cleaner anymore...

A British man donated his frozen big toe to a Yukon bar so he can drink it in a cocktail

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/f...cli/index.html

(CNN) — When Adam Gerle went to work one morning this week, he was thrilled to finally find a parcel with a frozen big toe in it.
Gerle is the general manger of the Downtown Hotel in Dawson City, Canada, which is world-renowned for an extremely gross traditional drink - the Sourtoe Cocktails.
Since 1973, visitors of the Yukon bars have been challenged to drink a shot of whiskey with a mummified human toe floating inside. To join the club - and get a certificate from the bar - the drinkers' lips must touch the toe. Over 86,000 Sourtoe Cocktails have been served since.
The latest big toe to reach the hotel belonged to Nick Griffiths, a former British Marine who lost it during a winter ultra marathon in 2018, according to a statement by Downtown Hotel.
Griffiths, 47, dropped out of the 2018 Yukon Arctic Ultra after he got frostbite on his left foot due to temperatures dropping to minus 40.
While in hospital, the Briton offered to donate the toes to the hotel "in the hopes of returning to the Yukon to do the Sourtoe Cocktail with his own toe," the statement says.

After going back to the UK to complete his recovery, Griffiths only recently managed to send it over via Royal Mail along with a handwritten note.
"We had been in touch since the beginning," Gerle told CNN. "The nurse at the local hospital mentioned he should donate the toes to the Sourtoe Cocktail and he was delighted by the idea.
"We knew he mailed them but it took a long time and we were worried," he continued. "We were both excited... and grossed out when the toe arrived."
Gerle explained that toes "are very hard to come by these days" and the donation will help ensure the tradition continues. Obviously, the frozen toes are re-used.
According to a local saying, "You can drink it fast, you can drink it slow, but your lips have gotta touch the toe."
The hotel has a public appeal on its web page for people to donate their frostbitten toes for the drink. "Donor will be forever immortalized in the Sourtoe Hall of Fame," reads the appeal.
"We have had toes swallowed and stolen before," Gerle said.
Griffiths' toe was stored in medical grade alcohol after the amputation, which will help the mummification process, Terry Lee, the hotel's "Toe Master" said in a statement.
"It will take approximately 6 weeks to mummify the Toe on rock salt before we can serve it," he said. "We have been waiting for a new big toe for a while so this is exciting news indeed! The big toes are the most disgusting and popular with the customers."
The hotel plans to bring Griffiths up later this summer "so he can do the toe," Gerle said

An alligator is swimming in a Texas lake with a knife in its head
Alternate title: just Texas being Texas

https://fox6now.com/2019/06/14/an-al...e-in-its-head/

Quote:
The American alligator populates nearly every swamp, lake and river (and occasional kitchen) in the southeastern US. But when Erin Weaver spotted one swimming near her Houston home, she suspected it was the one in danger.

“It looked like a steak knife that was sticking out of his head,” she told CNN affiliate KTRK.

Alligators are frequent, almost welcome guests around the neighborhood. For the six years she’s lived there, Weaver said she’s never seen them act aggressively or attack, so she’s not sure why someone would stick a knife in this one’s skull.

“I feel that somebody did this on purpose.”

A Texas wildlife agency is expected to check out the gator next week, but until then, Weaver and her neighbors are acting as its advocates.

“I want to get help for this alligator. I don’t want to see an alligator swimming around with a knife in its head and suffering.”

Luckily for the gator, it’s one of the wild’s most resilient species. Alligator skin is covered in osteoderms, or bony plates similar to a turtle’s shell, that act as bodily armor, alligator researcher Frank Mazzotti told CNN.

Gator skulls are made of heavy, thick bone, too, so potential attackers have only a “very small target” to do serious damage. Otherwise, objects will get lodged in its skull rather than its brain, maiming but not killing the creature.

In most cases of injury, gators bounce back. The reptile’s blood contains antibiotic properties, which speed up the healing process and render substantial damage as mere flesh wounds.

In other words, don’t mess with a gator.

Mazzotti said he couldn’t determine the extent of the damage for this particular gator. The length of the blade and its placement were difficult to decipher based on the photo.

A Nebraska woman will not go to jail despite marrying her father as part of a competition with her half-sister to have sex with their dad first.

According to a court affidavit obtained by the Omaha World-Herald, Samantha Kershner, 21, met her biological father, Travis Fieldgrove, 40, at the age of 17 after begging her mother to learn the identify of her father in order to meet him.

Both Fieldgrove and Kershner told authorities that in the three years after meeting, they maintained a normal father-daughter relationship, the court affidavit reads.

Neither Kershner or Fieldgrove offered police any explanation as to when and how their relationship turned sexual. They did, however, confirm to police that they started having sex in September 2018, stemming from a “jealous competition with her half-sister regarding who could have sex with their father,” according to court documents.

Once cops began investigating the nature of their relationship, the two allegedly traveled to Adams County Courthouse in Hastings in October to get married, the affidavit states.

Fieldgrove told authorities that he didn’t believe he was the woman’s father, as his name was not on her birth certificate, the Omaha World-Herald reports. A DNA test was taken and showed a 99.999 percent probability that he was indeed Kershner’s father.

Both Kershner and Fieldgrove were initially each charged with one count of incest, but she eventually pleaded no contest to charges of misdemeanor false reporting, and was spared jail time as a result.

Instead, she received nine months of probation by the Hail County court, Nebraska TV reports.

Fieldgrove pleaded no contest to incest and sentenced last month to two years in prison. After his release, he will be barred from having contact with Kershner.

Both still face incest charges in Adams County, where they married. Kershner also faces a charge of making a false statement under oath in Adams county, Nebraska TV reports. It is unclear if they have entered pleas to the Adams County charges and PEOPLE was unable to reach attorneys who could comment on their behalf.

Nebraska seems to be a strong contender to Florida. Give it a few years and they might take the crown for wtf stories.

I feel bad for the loser sister who didn't get to bang her dad. I mean, I feel bad that she feels like a loser. Overall I feel bad for them all, but I feel most bad for the daughter who wasn't diddled.

This is the kind of thing where libertarian thinking loses me.

There are so many reasons why allowing incest is not a good idea, not least of which that it's normally a case of the adult grooming the child who is not capable of consenting, and also derp babies.
