2022 sales were non existent for Q1 of 2022 because they didn't start delivering the VB until April, and the VA was out of stock for the first 3 months.

essentially what you are saying, and what the stats are saying is that Subaru is averaging 7,000 WRX per quarter since Q2 of 2022. not up, not down, flat.

yay, I guess?

if you want to get in the weeds, in Q2 2023 they sold 2000 more WRX than Q2 2022, but then Q3 2023 they sold 1300 fewer than Q3 2022.

again, yay, I guess?

pat yourself on the back, for who knows what reason, I guess shareholders might be happy about it, not sure why customers care how many Subaru sold?

what exactly are you trying to show here?

I agree. I thought Impreza was a stupid name when it first released. Grew to like it. I don't think Layback could get "better".

No kidding. The last several months it has been selling less. Not by a crazy lot; but, that doesn't matter. It's on a downward swing. Can't wait to see what he says all next year.

No. Wait. I don't and I ignored him and people keep quoting him.

Japan is all bad English and nostalgia. Or maybe I am.

I would bet on Subaru choking down WRX until it gets discontinued. It will begin costing them a fortune in penalties.

I fully expect this to be the last model ICE WRX.

Link to penalties? Are you talking emissions or cafe?

There are still plenty of car companies out there with sub-300 hp sedans. Subaru is still selling these cars and they make the company a considerable amount of money.

What I do NOT like is how they are using 0W-20 in an attempt to get 1 MPG more in fuel economy. Dealers are actually putting this crap in FA20s which is a huge no-no.

I would not be surprised to see the Solterra soon to be outselling the WRX.

For sure. Some direct competitors have already announced that the next generations are going to be EV (GTI/R/Hyundai N cars). I am not sure how behind Subaru/Toyota are behind in terms of EV's but there is no doubt in mind this is the last ICE WRX. I am curious to see what changes they are planning for the facelift.

Future of WRX/STI all depends on the election next year. Trump comes back we will see the cancelled STI, another ICE WRX generation, etc. just saying

I was incorrect about the painted flares, maybe at refresh, but there is no lie in saying the sti was a finished product. Many Subaru america employees saw it!

Close to being finished? Yes. Finished? No. It kept getting delayed specifically because it wasn’t finished.

Close enough.....

And the delay was more of the general delay everything got.

Both. It will have to be hybridized to remain. I don’t know if they’d even bother with the investment that will take either.

The global platform was designed for electric propulsion so my guess is they make some hybrids/EVs based off of that and keep the WRX around. The car sells too well and is their flagship “sports car.” They’d axe the BRZ before the WRX.

Maybe they’ll make the 2024’s wheels out of plastic to help with unsprung weight.

Subaru does not care what Trump may or may not do. Any plans they start they will surely not stop dead in their tracks. They have wanted to kill off the STI for a long time... no money in it. Hurts on CAFE. They would much rather sell you a crosstrek.

Ya, NONE of the automotive brands trying to sell to the world market give a **** about which way the US political climate will go over the next decade. They are looking at global trends and catering to the entire market. There isn't enough money in it to design and build gross polluters just for the smaller regions that are refusing to adopt emission laws.

.....Nevermind.

Typed up a lot. Once posted, didn't read right. But, ultimately was disagreeing and agreeing.

Are you saying you have some sort of inside knowledge again?

Japan has even more stringent goals with emissions than we do. As long as the WRX sells, they don't care any more. It's time for them to move on to electrification and they know it.
