Also curious if anyone has installed them before.

What's the process to pull out the studs?

From what I read the suspension has to be disassembled and do they use a C-clamp to get the studs out?

Maybe not?

Thanks,
Chuck

Best advice... wait and do it on a day you aren't counting on taking a trip in the same car. Esp if it's something that isn't vital to the car actually making it there/back.

+1 to this. Is the car undriveable with the current setup?

Unless I installed them completely wrong on my old forester, it's as simple as pop the suspension out from the top mount, drop spacers on top of studs and put back in place. Crazy simple. But wouldn't try it on a day like today. Way too cold outside.

Yeah to my understanding back when I was looking to get a set for my BD, it's a simple slip over the top hat and reinstall. If you go really big on the spacers then the studs need to be changed out i think, but up to a certain size you should be fine just dropping in.

they go between the chassis and the strut..

don't do it now..

you don't know what kind of rust is on the hardware on that almost 14 year old car..
plus it's freezing out.

I'd drive out into Somerville maybe and find a big empty parking lot to use.

PM'd. This is really a super easy job that he can do himself, or you can help. Was surprised to see this get bumped up. Figured it would have gotten taken care of by now.

The issue also is that its a 1 inch Lift so the studs need to be popped out and installed.

See, that's kind of important information:

"Hey guys, can someone help me do an oil change?"
"Sure, it's super easy."
"Oh, and by the way, I'm replacing the motor at the same time."

Does he have all the parts? Does he have the new studs? I'm not positive, but I think studs can just be knocked out and the new ones pulled through. Can anyone confirm?

Regardless, OP, did you get my PM? Gave you a shop right nearby North Station.

This is a job that can take 10 minutes a side or many many hours. Whats your luck?

Really, its 3 nuts, 2 bolts and a clip on each side. You can press out the top studs with a C-clamp and a deep socket. Or you can just whack them with a hammer.

What I was implying is that any automotive shop can do that. Hell, Midas or even Walmart can do it.
