Just a friendly reminder to everyone regarding the upcoming Texas Subaru meet/Grand Opening on June 3rd.

This is shaping up to be the largest gathering of Subaru owners ever held in Texas so make sure you're not the only one who doesn't show up!

To make this a bit more fun, those planning on attending should email me your name, city, and model Subaru you have and I'll make a list on our web site to show all the people planning on coming out.

You can email me directly at [email protected] or call at 972-771-1555.

See ya there,

alex: "mungo" is how i used to say "mango" when i was a little boi growing up in india, suffice it to say somehow:

mango = fruit, which monkey's like to eat, generated: LITTLE MUNGO, and well he's a baby, still afraid of venturing into the, yet to be lighted, trunk in my scooby!

Geoff,

I think there are some Houston ppl coming up that weekend for the event. You should organize it with them and maybe get a caravan going. There were some guys from Austin that are going to do this.

Come on, this is a TEXAS event, not a Dallas only event.

See ya there,
Trey

I don't know Sev, sounds like an excuse to me. I drove to California once so I know for a fact that there are roads that go between here and there.

Would be a cool road trip, don't you think? hehe

SabreLion here (using my alt login...left my password at work..arg)

I'd love to be able to make it, but there are several factors that come into play:

1) The car's in the shop. It may be out this weekend...then again, it may not.

2) Believe it or not, I've never autocrossed. I just drive hard on the street...and in Houston, it's almost a requirement (an Excursion and a Suburban riding alongside eachother on Beltway 8 comes to mind...

3) Long drive...especially if it's just a one-day thing. I might consider it if there were some other Houstonian Subaru nuts going, as caravaning is fun...otherwise, I doubt I'll be able to make it. :/

Man I really want to go, but I have to study for the series 7. I need to pass it to keep my career. Well good luck and the Houston crew should get together the night befor or for breakfist somewhere.

Cheers,

I'm going to work on getting a special deal setup with one of the local hotels for all those coming in from out of town. We have ALOT of interest from people in Houston and even out of state that are obviously not going to want to drive here and back in one day.

I'll post tomorrow with a local hotel phone number and rates. Maybe we can even plan a little "after meet cruise" through Dallas and eat somewhere for dinner. That would be fun!

Whatcha think guys? Drive up in the morning, go to the meet and then we'll all caravan somewhere to eat and those who want to stay out and enjoy the Dallas nightlife can do their thing and the rest can head back to the hotel for some rest and drive back the following day.

I'll get the hotel information tomorrow. Post if you're interested in doing that so I can give the hotels some kind of idea as to how many people there will be.

GRRR!!! I want to come but I've got to baby sit my two year old nephew that weekend!! There's no way in H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks (LL - Remember Radar from M*A*S*H?) my wife will let me leave her alone with the duties all weekend. Especially with a race that Sunday and the Divisional the next weekend! How do I swing this?! Argh! I'm dying over here!

I would love to be there, esp. if we had a caravan from Houston! I have to work that weekend.

I will be there in spirit.

Cool

Here is some hotel information for those coming in from out of town. It's about 5 minutes from our shop.

Country Inn & Suites
689 East I-30
Rockwall, TX

972-722-3332

I tried to set up a special package but they're weren't as helpful as I hoped. They are BRAND NEW though and looked really nice.

It sounds as if there's going to be ALOT of people coming out for this event. Huffines Subaru is also coming out and will be setting up a tent in the parking lot.

Heck, even Sev from California is going to make the drive out here...right Sev?

See ya there,
Trey

C'mon guys and gals......
If I can drive to Houston, visit my family for 3 hours and turn around and drive back to Dallas, surely you can drive to Dallas and back in one weekend.....
Sheeezz we're not talking about a trek through the African bush here. There is a highway all the way there ya know. Just watch out for the bears around The Woodlands, Fairfield, and pretty much from Ennis on into Dallas.
Can't wait to see all you people.

Tray, how's about an 1/8th mile drag race with some of the heavy meatal in your Dad's shop???? Orrrr, RRRRRallyX in the field next door?

Andre - Yeah, the 1/8 mile thing sounds like fun. Even better in the dirt. Have to be careful who we try and pick on though as there are quite a few dirt racers out here running pretty big motors and they aren't exactly afraid to destroy a body panel to protect a lead if you know what I mean.

See ya all next weekend!

Sorry guys, I won't be able to make it. Our auto-x club had to reschedule an event an it's on the 3rd. So while you boys are shootin' the breeze I'll be practicing my left foot braking for the Houston Divisional, getting ready to mop the floor with the rest of STR.
Try to have fun with out me.
