Coming up on almost a year with my first "real" Subaru. Im absolutely in love with this thing. Im running Winter tires on the stock 17' STI rims and my Dunlops are starting to get a bit lonely.

I want to get a nice set of wheels for the Dunlops, but keep running into one issue...I want the Volk TE57's. The problem is that I dont have TE57 cash.

So I would love some recommendations on a good TE57 or TE37 style wheel that isnt that Volk price tag. Im looking for decent quality and nice beefy 5/6 spoke wheels to roll the stock Dunlops on. Weight isnt a huge issue since I run stock everything and daily the car. Current suspension is stock but looking to get coil overs and dropping it a few inches in the next year or two. Any ideas or recommendations?

Ive been looking mainly at some of Enkei's lower end line like the Kojin, T6S and VR5. I also really like the look of the Avid1 AV06's, Im just a bit worried about the wheel gap. Smaller is better, obviously.

Current set up (Mostly stock):
Michelin X-ice xi3 Winter Tires
Rally Armor mud flaps
Various small visual things

IMO, TE37 reps never look even remotely similar to actual TE37s.

Of the wheels you mentioned, I would go with Enkei based on the just the brand name.

Other wheels you could consider are the Rays Gramlights 57CR and 57DR. Not quite TE37s but similar.

What the hell is a TE57?

Regardless...save up for what you really want. Donít get cheap copies of the real thing ...it screams ďI donít really have the cash to playĒ Itís tasteless and embarrassing to say the least.

Do the suspension FIRST....plan out what you want and get the rims and tires when you are really ready.

Best of luck

My mistake, I thought there were 2 sets, the 5 spoke and the 6 spoke(TE57/TE37). With all the numbers and wheels Ive been looking at, I get some crossed or confused.

Im not planning on cheaping out. If I was, I would be going the Walmart route. With that said, I want to get what I really want, but I dont feel it's worth the asking price for what I am looking to do. I really just need something to wrap the Dunlops around instead of getting the shop to swap wheels tires every season. Its easier and will arguably save me money in the long run.

I want something that will look good and get the job done and not break the bank. I think its reasonable to ask for something like that and not drop 2-4k on a set.

Im sorry if I sound defensive, but I really hate that argument. I understand the worth in getting the top of the line products. I do that with most things in my life. But considering what Im looking to do with my wheels, does it seem outrageous to save a little money on something that look SLIGHTLY different? Yes, weight and brand and other factors come into play, but most of them are superficial for a daily driver.

Just my thoughts on it. Thanks for your feedback.

Agreed! I'd also like to know how you painted the rims Gold. I have the same ones and would love to do the same. I was thinking Powder coating but maybe there is another alternative that you used since they look perfect!

I know they are not the same wheel.
However those wheels came in gunmetal grey on our cars & the 2018 Base STI in Canada.

I'm inquiring about how he painted/powder coated them in gold ^__~

Which fog light bulbs or conversion are you using? Your fogs look great, while mine are so yellow and awful. I wish mine matched my LED headlights.

With a wider tire and a flush fitment, do most of y'all experience more debris on the sides of the car?

After I traded my 2010 LGT 7 years ago I went through different cars.
Finally I am a proud owner of a 2016 STI.
Let me just say, it was worth the wait.
Here is my baby.
Bought it 3 days ago, used with 6800 miles.

I used to have a 2010 WRX and a 2010 LGT, the WRX got some mods, heat shield for the turbo, SPT catback and some other things., now with this car I want to keep it stock. But honestly I don't know if I'm going to be able to do that Lol.
