I'm going today to test drive the CVT premium model and see how she does. I won't buy until after the NYIAS though. ....just in case the WRX is shown :-)

Nothing can be done - just live with it. Pitch fork wound through the knee when I was about 8 years old living on the farm. Sometimes it goes out when I walk and that makes me stumble and/or fall.

I just wanted to note I said "I didn't think I'll be buying an XV."

Just in case. I took another one for a test drive this afternoon. It is a little noisier, but... I found something interesting... the CVT engine compartment has more sound deadening than the MT for some reason.

(Local dealer is getting a 5MT Premium in DK. Gimme. )

Just got done driving the premium cvt and I'm impressed. I can't believe people are saying it needs more power. Its fine for what it is. I will agree the interior is still a little lacking but only when u compare to VW and Focus. Its still a improvement from the last gen.

I love the looks of the Crosstrek, but not sure I can live with the lower power after driving only turbo vehicles over the last 10 years.

The only place where it really makes a difference is on the highway.

Hmm, that doesn't look like something a potential Forester buyer would be going for now does it? ;-)

Nice job sir. Love it.

Ha, I got one of the first XV's in my area and have had everything on almost since temp tags! =D

I have 3/16" front skid plate and rear diff skid. Also light bar all from primitive racing out of Oregon.

Coming from the 11 WRX that I had running 12.7 in the 1/4 mile (and never running. 100%) was a big change but I'm not always working on it or spending money on it

I have warn 650D driving lights in the front but honestly they just suck... I was doing some research and I just installed an HID kid in them with a little modification.

In the back I have 2 rigid industries dually LED lights mounted on my roof rack that put out an amazing 60 degree beam! Obviously with that kind of spread these are for back up lights or stationary/camping lights. I also mounted one inside my hatch which is super sleek!

Other mods include LED interior lights, pioneer navigation system, (2) 10" subs, plasti dipped badges and grill, and upgraded low/high beams.

Any chance you have a photo of the pioneer Nav system installed? I'm thinking of upgrading and a bit concerned on the overall appearance.
Thanks

When viewing these photos remember. The HID Driving lights are "Spots". They give long straight beam of light.

The LED lights have a diffused lens that throw light everywhere rather than far distance. The 2 LED's on rack are pointing out some. LED in hatch pointing straight out.

Warn 650D Lights that have a wireless remote- $280 + $60 for HID kit.
LED lights about $180 for a pair. Got the 3rd one free.

Low/High/High w/ spots

LED mounted/Stock reverse lights/ 1 LED light on rack.

Front view / high beam / spots only

All lights on

3 LED lights on rear

Video comparison of stock reverse lights, then turning on 2 LED's on rack, then opening hatch and turning on 3rd LED light.

The driving lights add A LOT OF LIGHT. My only complaint is I need some cornering lights also. Every time I have all the lights on and then click down to low beams by girlfriend just goes WOAH! Having the HID kit in the Halogen projectors in the driving lights is great because you do get a lot of glare which you can see in the trees and off to the side also.

I am curious about this. I got addicted to the boost, but it is costly (and I only feed my vehicle 93 octane).

I find the Crosstrek just looks and feels more rugged than the Forester.

I had actually planned on trading this in on a 14 XT but decided not too :P

You get use to what ever car you have. I find the "power" sufficient to do what I need. And thats driving around lol. On the flip side the lack of power can be hindering in off road situations.
