AWD gas tank questions
I know some of you will be familiar with what I'm talking about. It's that orange valve that's in the fill up hose to the tank. During my AWD swap, I noticed mine was missing both doors on the valve, then I broke my 2nd one attempting to put it in. Is this just a mechanism to prevent overfilling the gas tank? Can I do without it if I'm careful.
My second question is also about the gas tank. Does the AWD gas tank have a seperate pump on the opposite side to pump it to the side with the main pump? I don't have the wiring for that. Brent

wow, you lost me on this one..
normally, the actual pump has the flow valve that prevents overfill.. I wouldnt worry about the valves you speak of unless you smell gas while driving.. as for the fuel pump, there's only one pump.. many people had the infamous "missing gallon" when people actually run the tank down to the point where the car dies out from fuel starvation.. when they fill up, it's only 14.9 gallons out of 15.9 gallons capacity. I found out the orange valve prevents gas from coming back out of the tank if you roll your car. Since I don't plan on rolling my car, I'll be ok without it.
The driver's side of the tank has tube and something electronic. I haven't actually looked at it yet. From what I read, it sucks gas to the side with the pump using the Bernoulli principle. So what I can do is just take some hard turns to get as on the side with the pump. Brent |

be careful with the hard turns to move the gas, you might roll it.
