PM us if you want your pan powder coated. Typically only used with show cars and track cars trying to bend the rules It costs $35 and adds 4-5 days to the order.

There is no benefit to powder coating except the appearance.

I bought one of these a while back, and now I'm getting ready to put in the oil temperature sender. How clean/dry do the threads need to be when I put the 1/2 NPT adapter back in?

I mean, are we talking "remove pan, degrease, brake cleaner..." or is it enough to wipe the threads with a paper towel after draining the oil?

Thanks!

EDIT: I have Teflon tape and will be using it unless there's some reason not to.

Oily is fine, but you'll want to remove as much debris as you can. Usually with a small pick you can get old Teflon tape out pretty easy. Or you can shove a wire brush in the hole and spin it out counter-clockwise to remove any bits leftover. Not worth pulling the pan IMO.

So the cast pan has been up and rolling for a while now. The feedback has been great, which has been good to hear.

We are still going to be taking order for the fabricated oil pans, but they are made to order only. Let me know if you have any questions

Have questions? Get answers

Fun fact, we use a proprietary casting process that allows thinner walls with no draft required. A benefit of using this process technology is that it allows pan geometry that can hold more oil. More oil means more 'residence time' (the time oil spends in the sump before it gets sucked back into the engine). Any increase is residence time will decrease aeration. Improved oil residence time has been shown to de-aerate oil better than 'de-aeration baffles'. Improvements in de-aeration increase oil pressure, reduce heat, and improve overall lubrication system function.
