Got to ride in the new REX today.
Wow, what a beautiful blue!! Car looks so much better in person! The test drive was cool. This car is not a speed demon, but it's quick. I think a lot of people are getting out of hand saying this car might reach in the 13's stock. NO WAY. Felt like a mid-to-upper 14's MAX. Turbo lag was minimal-car felt nice and torqy from idle. Wow-this things handles much better than the RS(even with the lamo RE92's). Car feels a little heavier, but well-balanced. Seats are really nice-that blue/black cloth is very attractive and the bolsters and headrests have a suede-type feel. Very nice. Carpet's way better(better quality) The interior as a whole, seemed much tighter and quieter. I love the looks in person. This one had no options-no spoiler, no guage pak, nothin'. Even without the spoiler, this is an attractive car in person!! So, am I getting one? NO. Not yet. My dealership was taking pre-orders ($1000 deposit) and I had a grand in cash ready to throw down, but I'm gonna wait. THEY WILL DEFINITELY BE CHANGING THINGS ON THE CAR FOR NEXT YEAR!!! I know this. I'll get one next year if some else better doesn't come along. From the sounds of the conversation I had with the Subaru rep., this is just the beginning. Why buy now? Gonna wait...and enjoy my '00 GT.

Well Subaru does have a habit of changing things abotu every 2 years, think of it this way...
IT's ALREADY BEEN OUT A YEAR!!! Recall that Japan and most other nations get the New subaru models atleast a year before we do. |

I don't really understand the reasoning behind waiting a couple years for improvements. I mean, I could wait 5 years or so for an all new Impreza and that would be better than the current WRX. Or I could wait 20 years & get the latest Porsche 911 because it will be so much faster than the current Turbo.

LOL, Ridinlow. I always laugh at the "I'm gonna wait" arguement.
That said, I'm gonna wait. Wait until I can get a test drive. |

I just ordered mine just now with my salesman. So much for waiting. So much for caring about my upside-down-stuck-in-a-lease dilemma. Oh well. Oh I can't wait now!!!

Brahmzy,
Did you order your car from Heuberger here in the Springs? Did they say anything about the deadline for the first allocation? I think today was the deadline for the first allocation. I ordered mine last week from them. Did they have any more information about delivery dates? They didn't know much when I ordered last week, but I know I was first or second on the list with Gunnar Heuberger. Thanks, Punk |

Oops something else Brahmzy,
Was the car in Colorado Springs today? Last week my salesman told me it would be in town sometime this week for training, but I haven't heard from him. I know he is usually off on Thursday though. It would be a bummer if I missed seeing it in person today before I buy it! I wonder if it will be here on Friday? What colors/options did you order? Thanks, Punk |

Punks...The WRX was here at Heuberger today(1:30-4:00). I got to ride in it, poke around in it, talk to the rep... Wow. Anyway, I got shut down on ordering it by my girlfriend tonight(yes I wear the pants, but we're tryin' to buy a house n' stuff)She thought it wouldn't be a financially sounddecision. Later I convinced her it was, by that time Heuberger had closed. So after a lot of yelling and stuff, I will try to re-order the car tomorrow. Earlier today they said I could come buy tomorrow and order it...hmmm. I heard today was the deadline too though from someone else. I hope I can still get one!!!!!!!! I was gonna order the WR Blue sedan. No wing, no nothing.

Brahmzy,
Well, I hope you can get your car. I understand about finances and buying a house but a guy has just gotta have his WRX too! I am majorly bummed that I missed seeing the car though. . . oh well. I do have the WRX brochure that I received from Subaru this week. When I ordered my WRX last week they hadn't had a lot of pre-orders so maybe you will be OK. Good luck! I ordered mine in Sedona Red, rear spoiler, security package and gauge pack. Hope it gets here soon as I just sold my 2000 RS and am sad! Punk |

Wow, good job sellin' the car! I'd love to sell my 2000 GT-it's hard though, as it not the most sought-after vehicle. I thought about the wing but I will surely be getting a big WRC-type wing soon after getting the car, so why spend on nuttin'. I'm serious, this car is sexy as all hell without one. Seeing it upclose and personal is completely different than pictures. All the add-ons offered are easily obtained and installed afterwards anyway. Man, I've gotta get one. There's gonna be a lot of stuff available for these things.
