Haha, this thread makes me weep. My wagon has 205/45-16's on stock wheels, and I'm uber excited to be moving up to 225/45-17 Falken RT-615's! If only I knew...
Not to thread jack, but how much of a difference traction-wise does it make to have a tire width upgraded, from say 225 to 255? |

Pretty certain - they are tires that the previous owner had on them, and are not performance tires by any means. They are either 215 or 205, no wider for certain.

I got 245/35/18 offset +41 on stock suspension. No rubbibng issues at all. I want to change to 255/35/18. Any body know if this will work. Camber needed?

255/40/18s.. Im pretty sure the side walls are 40.. Rims are SSR Professor MS1s 18x8.5.. Front offset is +48.. Rear are +42 Car is my daily. Last edited by TheLadiesMan; 11-14-2008 at 05:44 PM. |

You are aware that slicks seat in the tire wider than standard passenger tires. By saying your set of R1s fit snugly inside the tire and squared it of on a 9 is exactly what I'm saying, but it gets into contact patch, load, weight, wheel, size, yada yada yada. I'm not asking to be proven wrong, I'm stating clearly that in my opinion a 255 on a 9.5 wheel is a stretch, and will remain that way in my mind until the day I die.
