Post recaros in the Evo VI

Hey, what kind of Recaros are those in the Tommi Makinen edition Evo VI? Are those available to everybody?

Where do I get Recaros in the first place, anyway?

Yes, they are available.

Bring LOTS of $$$

IIRC, they are about $3k each if you want the real deal.

Contact a Recaro dealer for more info (sorry, can't recommend one)

Damn, I was hoping they wouldn't be priced like STi seats. I guess the search for decent seating goes on... anybody have any recommendations? This is what I need:

-under $1000 apiece
-decent lumbar support
-provisions for a harness

I'm 5'7, 140 lbs.

Thanks,
~G

How about the Recaro Sport? I believe it is less than $1000. (I got my SE for $450)

Check out http://www.recaro-nao.com/ for more info.

you can also get a Recaro SRD, which is the OEM seat from the Accord Type R and the Mustang Cobra R for under $1000 ($962 when I checked last). Very cool, very comfy.

Thumbs up

All I have to say is SPARCO EVO2! Those seats are so sweet!

Ok, now does anybody know where I get Recaros locally? I'd like to try them before I buy. I'm in NYC at the moment.

I'm too small for the Evo 2's, I'd have to go for the Evo's. I like them, but RalliSpec is really trying to talk me out of the Evo's since they don't recommend the racing shells for daily usage.

Thanks for the input,
~G

I had the SPARCO Rev's (racing shells) and they are excellent once you have them in position. Especially with full harnesses. I used the car as a daily driver and a racer.

But forget the tilt mechanism that you can get. The seat will just tilt a few degress and hit the roof. Say goodbye to ever getting in the back.

Any non-recliner is a bad idea in a two door unless you're already ripping out the rear seats, because they will become useless or at least very difficult to use.

The SRD is a good idea. If you're in NYC you should be able to find raceshops stocking the SRD and some Corbeau recliners too. I'd try the Corbeaus because they are fairly inexpensive... which does no good if you don't fit well.

check the Recaro USA website. they will have links or a search for the closest dealer near you. They should have an SRD in stock.

Warning: they are very nice. You will realize just how bad the stock seats are!

Ahh, it's nice to have a sedan so I don't have to worry about flipping the front seats forward!
