Default Sluggish feeling after going Stage 2 [UPDATE]

Car:
2012 WRX Sedan
Mods:
Cobb AP-Running Stage 2 OTS map (93 octane, no intake, live in Texas)
Invidia Catted DP
Nameless Axle-back (I know, it doesn't matter)

I recently went Stage 2 via the above parts. However, now my car feels somewhat sluggish off the line. Prior to Stage 2, my car felt lively off the line and built boost quickly. When I say "off the line", I mean going from a standstill at a stop light and accelerating swiftly (not aggressively) to get in front of another car to make a quickly approaching turn, etc. I don't race and I never launch it.

I know these cars require revs to build boost and are top end happy power-makers, but what I am experiencing is, in my opinion, not the correct amount of low end power.

Now, I have to really give it some right foot if I want to get off the line swiftly. It still builds the correct amount of boost 18-20psi at the top of the rpm band, but it seems to build the boost later on then it use to. It just feels really sluggish at the bottom of first, second, and third gears and seems to have lost torque because it won't build anything. In fact, it is still showing vacuum until around 3,000 rpm.

Additionally, I have checked the Intercooler hose (its on firmly), I have checked for leaks around my double thickness grimmspeed turbo to downpipe gasket.

Is this a typical product of OTS maps and bad fuel loads from predetermined a/f ratios? Is this an unidentified leak? Yes, I know I need to go get a pro-tune, but I am tight-walleted right now and looking to rule out any additional issues. Thanks for the help.

Did you just flash it? It takes a bit for the throttle to relearn. How many miles have you put on since the flash?

I have had it Stage 2 for about 2 months now. I decided to reset the ECU and re-flash the map about a month ago in an effort to pin point the problem. But it hasn't helped any. Anyways, yeah it's been Stage 2 for about 2 months now.

Car is always sluggish after a reflash. Will take around a tank for it to fully relearn the fuel trims.

Do a search there a loads of posts on this.

You shouldn't still be in vacuum at 3000 rpm with the little vf52, that's about when my stage 2 wrx hits full boost. Do you have an accessport? If you do check the DAM, it should be at 1. anything lower (.8 .6) means there's a problem somewhere.

Pretty comon for when the car is first flashed for the DAM to be lower then 1. It works its way up as it learns and feels its safe to do so.

Do some data logs and send them to Cobb via email. That is what I did when I bought my accessport (through Perrin though so I sent the logs to them) and they are usually very helpful in reading the logs and letting you know if everything looks good if you do not know what to look for

Everyone, thank you for your input. I ran a data log and the results can be seen below. If you would like me to send you the actual spreadsheet in excel format, or would like to see more data, let me know. I ran it from 2,500rpm-redline (a little above because it didn't cut off) in third gear. DAM looks to be ok/within range/1. I will be doing some research and will hopefully be able to provide an opinion shortly.

You have some learned knock which is costing you power and from what I see about 1 to 1.5 psi of boost. Maybe poor fuel

If you get it from the same place. Maybe try the 91 map to see if it cuts down on knock.

Run the 91 map on 93 fuel? Or use 91 fuel? I've been running 93.

You're missing your boost target by a good amount. Try checking the bpv gasket. I've seen a lot of those get mysteriously ripped.

Ok, I'll check my BPV Gasket during my lunch break and report back. Are there any other things I could determine from the data log?

I doubt you have a boost leak as your maf g/s seems in line with the boost you are making. You have learned knock and feedback knock during high load and in the range where peak boost should be. A boost leak test wouldn't hurt but if I were you I would either flash a less aggressive tune (91) or get a pro tune.

If you don't live close to anywhere that can tune a Subaru, torqued performance does a great job. I was having trouble with the ots Cobb maps, decided to order his maps and let him dial it in. All you have to do is email him your logs and he will make revisions until its right

+1

Eric is a boss. He never tuned a 4eat forester xt before and got mine squared away in a couple hours. you essentially pay less than 100 bucks for something in between an ots tune and a pro tune

I'm no expert but is the wgdc supposed to be that low towards redline?
