russ, next time come down on friday and we will shoot all day saturday..oh and me and the captain are looking for dates for assault carbine.. and i think we will have enough people.

and the hits russ made at 1k yards were about 6-7 inches from the bottom of the target but they were pretty tight.
Ya, Karriem was on with that ACR. All I heard was clang, clang, clang. Think that thing weighed more than my bolt gun.

I'll definitely come hang with you guys the night before. What about Dec 15th-16th for the carbine class? James will be out of school and it won't be the weekend before Christmas. He needs to know real soon tho so he can get it off work.

Ya, I need to bring my zero up a little I think. I eyeballed it from my scope instead of the spotter and I thought it was close enough. Another 1/2 MOA in elevation would put those rounds dead center at a grand.

Yeah, 15-16th should work for me. I'll check my schedule tomorrow when I get to the station. If it works for everyone else, I'll call my CCEMT-P bud that works with us to see if he and I can swap CCT shifts so he'll work my Saturday and I'll pick up his Thursday. Might take a twelve pack to convince him, but it should be worth it.

Ordered my match barrel and upper today for my side-charging 6.5 Grendel project. So the two main parts are on their way, but now I just have to figure everything else out.

I'm going with an Adams Osprey gas piston system on it, so I have to get that in before I figure out the handguard issue to see what will clear it. Then I'll have to source some reasonably priced ammo so I'm not paying $1.50 a round, especially if I lose my mind (again) and use the system with my Slide Fire stock.

Or I could use what I bought from a friend for a hundred and seventy five bucks and not worry about it, because there's nothing to register and no tax stamp to pay.

Plus, Slide Fires are stupid easy to control as far as rate of fire. Hillbilly or not, it's awesome. Much like strippers, moonshine, and meth.

No NV... yet. I'm jealous of your badass kit. I would love to come down and shoot with you (I'm in Dallas). Have you ever gone to the LaRue range days? That looks like a good time!

I know you said you had the monster NV that can mount in front of my NF for sale, but do you have any on hand that you can take out on a shoot? I'd love to see what it's like on my BA. Just have to get the damn thing dialed in first

So, I'm sure all of you are already hearing about what happened in CT today. I posted a long rant on Facebook. Feel Free to share it. My facebook address is facebook.com/docb04 feel free to add me.

Sad day in the United States. Many of you may think, oh you're a bit early with your political rant but here's my stance. Bear in mind that I serve my country every day as I have for almost 12 years now, I was serving my community via USMC Toys for Tots when I heard the news and I was sickened by this news.

I have 3 guns, one of which is at a friends house. I have a 2 year old child. I keep my guns away from my son since he isn't old enough to understand them. I often had guns in my truck when I went to high school because I usually went around and shot birds and snakes or whatever on the property we had back then. Never in any of my years of gun ownership has one of my Shotguns, Rifles, or Pistols walked off and killed someone.

Many of you say 'If guns weren't there, no one would have died.' Well guess what, today in China, the same thing happened only with a knife. See this article...

http://news.yahoo.com/knife-wielding...064458804.html

The problem has nothing to do with the guns, a gun is only a tool. More people are killed by knives, baseball bats, cars, food, cigarettes or whatever else we can bring up, than are killed by guns. The problem is the ****ing nut job holding the gun.

In this picture below I have enough rounds loaded up to kill or injure 36 people before I even reload. Guess what, my wife and kid survived the night with my guns just like that in a small 2 bedroom apartment. How? you might ask... Well, I do not have any mental issues, I was not brought up by terrible parents and I KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY ACTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop blaming inanimate objects on these tragedies. Blame who is really at fault. First, the people holding the guns, then their parents for not teaching them responsible gun ownership and most of all for not teaching them right from wrong.

Just to add, it doesnt matter how many rounds you have in a magazine, I can swap mags in my AR15 in less than two seconds and have lead going down range again. Doesnt really help if they limit that part either. The people who will ultimately cause guns to be banned or controlled more will be people with no clues.

Completely agree. M4/AR mag changes are lightning fast. We are lucky most of the people who go on killing sprees aren't more efficient with their rifles.

This is such a terrible situation for families, parents, the entire nation. I think it will have far reaching implication for gun owners as well. In a week or two (once the sadness has turned to numbness) the politicking will begin.

So awful. The whole circumstance just angers and saddens me for so many different reasons.

Does anyone in the HEB/ft worth/Arlington area have a Springfield xd .45 compact or a Springfield EMP .40?

I am taking my CHL course for Christmas and I am trying to decide what to carry. My S&W and my Colt both are too large to conceal comfortably.

Prices are getting obscene already. CTD in McKinney is gouging people on Pmags. They were $15 yesterday. They're $60 today.

That's full retard.

Reloading supplies have dried up again too. Good thing I've got a case of 210M and 215M primers because those were the toughest to get last time. Powder and bullets have enough variety to stay available in some form and I've got brass enough to last for a few years at least.

I read somewhere that the definitions covered under the NFA umbrella do not require an act of congress to change. If that's so (James?) then one of the easiest (read: quickest) ways to limit certain firearms would be to classify them as NFA. That way you wouldn't have a full-on ban, like the one from '94, but would still be able to leverage a certain amount of control. I think it's an interesting solution as long as they increase the number of examiners (and/or finally take the process online). It will sure make people plan their purchases if they have to wait several months for it, but that sort of wait will hurt any impulse buys. It would also probably make those dirty Class 3/SOT guys increase their rates

You're absolutely correct. Anything can be labeled NFA at anytime. Which is what I'm figuring is probably the way we're headed with assault weapons. It would essentially be free to register your weapons, but the problem with that is that now you can't build anything new without paying the tax stamp, and of course they now know what you have.

An assault weapon registry is the first thing I thought would happen. That way there are numerous background checks, hoops to jump through, and a waiting period for anybody looking to do awful ****. Plus, there's going to be a limitation on the number of rounds you can legally have in any weapon, like there was from 94-04.

But this stuff will probably all take at least a year to get approved. We've hit a head, gentlemen. Prepare yourselves.

Yep, which is why my prices have barely gone up. Only basically to get my cost back from my distributors's up-charge.

Which is why I'm selling them hand over fist and am about to be out of stock and have to reorder.
