Default Checked for boost leaks, purge valve leaks, any ideas?

Part 42084G in the diagram squeels/vibrates when I manually apply pressure from an air compressor, begins around 4psi and gets worse/better as it goes up... is this normal behavior or does this valve need replaced?

well i ordered a new valve, but nobody pressure tests their intake systems here for boost leaks?

if you do, any notes about how well it holds for you or any odd noises even though it's not leaking to atmosphere?

IIRC isnt that a check valve for the FPR, and fuel system?

probably needs to be replaced. when you think about the function of that part, you have three ports... fuel in, fuel out, and manifold pressure. the manifold pressure should have no flow other than that required to deflect the internal diaphragm. vibrating/squeeling indicates to me an internal leak.

Also...

Whats your fuel pressure at idle? Under boost?

And WHY are you testing for boost leaks? Is boost bleeding off on you...?

not sure what my fuel pressure is, haven't looked... but the car runs pretty darn rich, always attributed that to not being tuned and running the UTEC basemaps... i began looking for boost leaks when i heard this "squeal" at 15+psi, just installed a FMIC so i figured i had a leak somewhere... turns out the tbody coupling and this valve were the culprits

The purge vavle may be ok, but I dont think anyones ever had it go bad so we dont know how to diagnose it...

What turbo are you running now?!

stock turbo

i understand it vents vapors, but it can affect fuel pressure too?

i thought the line running to the fpr was independant

The important line that runs to the FPR is off the manifold itself to up fuel pressure when it senses boost. Is this one attatched?

yeah everything's attached and operating perfectly except this valve, no check engine light and good vacuum @ idle, runs/drives fine... i was just trying to gauge how important this little valve was and what it affects negatively except emissions if it fails

ahh, here i was thinking that's your fpr... damn. disregard my previous comments please!

those exploded parts diagrams can be confusing when you don't have the real thing in front of you!

That sound is normal, whenever I pressurize a system on my car or a friends it will make that noise once the system is completly full of air. This valve just releases some of the air because it has no where else to escape. If i recall the valve has an arror showing which way it connects.

The arrow has the letters e/g, I need to know if it goes toward the intake or the other direction. I am thinking it points away from the intake.
