JDM rocks! I wish it was possible doing it the other way - converting JDM to LHD.

Anything is possible. If anything you may have it easier as they offered the Impreza GT over there (right? Or at least in Germany they did) I would imagine the harness would be similar if not identical and already LHD. Import JDM car, swap harness and dash with GT, done.

Still waiting on parts from powder coater. Supposed to hit the body shop for firewall mod in a few weeks depending on his schedule. Had great momentum going into winter then really stalled out.

Ur doing a great job bro! I will be bugging the hell outta you real soon, bcuz Joe has got a RA clip with my name all over it. The container is floating in the Pacific as we speak. As of right now, I just picked up my chassis car on Sunday,( 95 Impreza l sedan) that I payed $300 for, and the only thing wrong with it was the tranny doesn't have reverse, but other than that, its clean! So, needless to say, I am stripping it down, waiting SO un patiently for my RA Limited clip to find its way to my house! Your progress has me super stoked and ready to Gee Oh! Any and all help/pointers would be awesome. This will be my first COMPLETE build from the ground up. I've only rebuilt engines prior to this so.... Yeah, I'm jumping outta my skin, lol
I definitely wanna see how you do the firewall swap. Theres a guy on here named AMS Mike that did the same exact swap, and he cut out the LHD side and patched it on to the RHD side.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1714805
Interesting to see how everyone does the same thing just a little bit different with there own little flavor.
But yeah bro, can't wait to share some info with you, and most importantly, I can't wait to get my Ver6 STi RA limited.. haha such a long name!

Would you mind saying round about what that cost you for the pallets o' parts? I tried contacting the company but the guy doesn't seem to understand what I'm asking. I'd love to do a full Ver. 7 STi wagon swap on mine.

It depends on what all you want bro. If you just want the clip, or if u want everything from the car. I can't quote any prices, for its not my business.

That doesn't sound like Joe hes very receptive. Two pallets for me was 90% percent of the car. If you purchase the whole car you will get the whole car in pieces. when I dealt with Joe it was the cost of the clip or the cost of the entire car. I would give him another call and just ask what a complete V7 wagon would cost. he will have an answer hes very good

Hey bro, I was curious about something, The pink lateral links and other suspension parts you put on here, what are the off of? 05 spec c ra? I'm just wondering what newer suspension parts I can use. I want to get the whole pink suspension set myself, and wantef to make sure they fit before I forked out $1000. Lol
I know that you can get the pink gc8 sti lateral & trailing links, but I was wondering if maybe the Ver8 RA links fit!?!

Weldun,

The Pink links and arms are specific to the GC8. The later models are longer and wont fit. These are standard STI options for the GC8 they were factory on the S201. I can point you in the direct i went to source mine if you are still interested. email me

Hey bro! Have you seen what Ryan is doing with his firewall? The way he's doing it requires NO cutting of the firewall whatsoever! Just drill out the spot welds in the clip, and then spot weld back on to the shell. After that, you drill the necessary holes, and plug the ones not needed. I definitely think I can pull this one off myself, and it will save time and money.

I did see his post unfortunatly I have already cut my clip up a while ago. I saved the panels and this weekend I trimmed them up and am preparing to weld and cut the firewall. I may only cut the drivers side for the sterring colum and the brake booster. the passenger side i think i can trim and patch without the need to cut the firewall.

So when I was talking to Joe tday about MY TYPE-R, he mentioned something about you being done? Nothing against you personally bro, but I thought to myself, "NO eFFn Way" haha.... How is the Firewall swap coming along. You definitely took the hard route, but its just more experience the way I see it. That, and a bunch of "WTF's" & "You gotta be shytin me's" moments lol
Holler, I wanna see ur progress. My clip should be to my house by Monday-Wednesday I'm guessing. Prolly 8 days or so??? I'm so damn anxious right now its ridiculous, but I'm sure you remember that feeling!

Where did you get the used Pinkies? Could you tell if ther was a difference in weight between the Type-R Trailing Arms, and the S201 Pinkies? Any differences at all? It didn't look like there was in the pic that u have them side by side. I know the Pink Lat Links come in Triple & Full Pillow ball, but I really couldn't see ther being any differences in the Trailing Arms. I'm curious, bcuz if ther isn't any diffs, ima just spray paint them with my STi Cherry Blossom Red Paint. Lol why not right!?! No need to spend $250 on something u have already.

Sorry for blowing you up bro... Haha

Nice to see another fellow type r/ra

just a heads up since it was a headache for me looking for rotors. The fronts are normal wrx rotors from 02-07. rears are bit tricky. If your R180 diff then ur options are sti grpn rotors or dba 4656s. but if ur R160 diff then u can use the 06-07 rear rotors

look at the bushing, if u see a bridgestone symbol on the rubber, its pretty much same as the sti pink minus the pink. When i received my donor, all the arms were black but all the bushing were sti grpn bushing.
