Default Brakes Brakes Brakes

Alright here is the question:
I have a 1999 legacy L and it has single piston front breaks and rear disc. Now it is time to do the brakes on the car and since they suck I figured that I would upgrade. So what are my options? I have 15 inch wheels right now but I have been thinking about going to the 16 gold rs wheels (I like them for some reason) Anyway what are my options can I bolt up the GT's dual piston calpiers and stay with my 15 rims? And if they do not bolt up what do I need to get at the junkyard? I want to get better rotors so I was not going to get those from the junkyard? Also I keep reading about a big brake conversion what is the story with that? And also the 4 pot fixed calipers that I have seen??? Basically I want to know everything :-) But seriously if anybody can point me in the right direction or has any opoion's of their own I wouldlove to hear them
Thanks
