Yea, there wasn't an option for Arctic Camo.

At first I was wondering why you got offered jack squat for the trade in of your mazda.

I'm not wondering anymore.

@rtv900 LOL

The wrap comes off easily enough if they want it off.
And, I checked more than enough resources for the trade-in value on my car, so I do know what it was worth.

Anyways, you have a great day.

I'm gonna pick my new ride up either tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday.

Yes, I got the Limited. Loving it!

And, no, there won’t be artic camo on this one. /shrug/
Doesn’t matter except to me, whether the wrap was liked or not.
It was definitely a one of a kind thing.

I do have to get the radio replaced.....sounds like the CD player is trying to play all the time.
New radio is ordered, just waiting for it to come in and get replaced.

The AWD is freaking awesome when climbing up both 20+% grades of my driveway to the house.

I like the wrap. Looked pretty cool!

Sorry I just saw this thread. I would have referred you to vroom.com to get a quote for selling your vehicle. I just sold my maxima to them and they gave me better than wholesale, just $2K off dealer retail! (I don't get any kick backs from them.)

I had an '18 WRX Limited that got totaled, got the '18 maxima and just sold it, and now back in a '19 WRX Limited.

You'll definitely like it. The AWD of the Subaru is almost like cheating!

It loves mountain roads!

Congrats on the new WRX! I had a similar problem with my '18, in that I needed to have the radio replaced under warranty. The backup camera lines were off and none of the album art or Sirius/XM station graphics would display. That was my only issue so far with mine.

In general, you always want to "haggle" until your salesperson has to "talk to the manager. And once the best offer has been presented to you, you walk out. I think out of the last 12 cars I've purchased, I've had 11 call backs within 24 hours. Most of them same day within 30 minutes to an hour.

REMEMBER: YOU HAVE THE POWER. The sales game is all about conditioning the customer. So typically a dealership will drag you out with credit checks, running finance options, entering in all your information... they wear you down all while conditioning you. The result is an inherent feeling of pressure, almost like an obligation to purchase. All the objections have been overcome by that point. (I've been in sales for 25 years). So if you remember that YOU'RE in charge and walk out... the tactics go out the window and they can only resort to price reduction. AND THEY WILL!
Funny you say "Walk Out" I had someone do that, I didn't call them back, Sold the car to someone else and the 2hr dance the customer did was for nothing because now they have to go 2 hr dance somewhere else. Do your research, know what your will pay for the car, If the opportunity presents itself with a Deal... take. Just make sure your research is thorough.

If you're not in a rush, contact Heuberger Subaru, aka bestbuysubaru.co in CO or Dan Meola of Liberty Subaru in NJ. Both are present on these boards, offer no-haggle below invoice pricing for forum members here.

Price difference vs your local dealer might be worth getting a one way ticket and driving the car back home. IIRC Heuberger also has a delivery option. Good luck.

Go get base model, you don't need 18 inch wheel, leather seat, and sun roof. Save couple ground on base model and maybe go to get OEM sti wheel upgrade (for 1,200) quality subaru upgrade wheel (only come with 17 inch) and after market head unit and door speaker and call it a day

Thanks.

I like what I have and could afford it.
It was OTD at 28570.

Can't wait till the new stereo head unit comes in - this continuously playing CD player (with no CD inserted) is starting to get on my nerves. Other than that, I'm loving the car and getting used to the clutch.

I've driven a stick my whole driving life, from about the age of 11-12yr to now and spent 9yrs in the Speed3 and just used to that clutch. I'm getting the hang of where this one releases, getting used to it more, day by day.

I'm pretty sure you can blame the stiffness of the clutch assist spring for difficulty in getting used to the clutch. It is clearly visible when looking up toward where the clutch pedal pivots in its bracket (look on the back, or firewall, side of the pedal).

Other makes have the same problem, and for at least one other make there are aftermarket assist springs that are not as stiff (knowing about them is what put me onto it most likely being involved here). You get better clutch pedal feel with less assist spring, at the cost of a slightly heavier pedal.

I would not be surprised if a lighter spring would make it easier to deal with rev hang on the 1-2 upshift. The rev hang will still be there, but you should have easier control over engaging the clutch and be less apt to lurch on engaging 2nd.

Yea, that 1-2 shift is what is really getting me, all other shifts are good.
I'll have to take a look into the clutch assist springs, maybe change it out this fall when at the mtn house, since I have a garage there.

Thanks!

There was some rather ancient chatter about these assist springs over in the Transmission & Driveline section, like maybe 10 years ago. Search that forum on 'clutch assist spring'.

I have no idea what options our year has, or whether there's a workable DIY approach other than removing the spring completely. Cutting the OE spring would make it shorter (probably good) but stiffer (maybe not so good) No spring at all might lead to issues such as the car dropping out of cruise control should the pedal be able move/vibrate far enough to trip the clutch pedal switch, if that matters.
