Default Installing Subaru Star Badge on Debadged Trunk

Hello,
I've purchased this subaru star logo for my trunk since I like how clean it looks and I've been sitting here scratching my head as to how to apply the thing. Supposedly this one is designed to just stick with adhesive and not like the other that drills in.

The reason I am baffled is because on the back side of the badge it has a small plastic nub that sticks out a little on one side and I can't figure out exactly how this would stick on the trunk since the adhesive is pushed in a little and can't figure out how that would actually stick to the trunk. I'm wondering if I need to file the plastic part down or something. The badge does look like it may come into two pieces when the adhesive protective film is off but not sure how that would help since I wouldn't be able to get the frame back on. I've tried emailing support from the site but they are closed on the weekend.

Anyone else use this badge or know what I need to do? Thanks! I have some links to pictures of the back below.

1) Back of the badge note the little plastic part that sticks up on the right side.

2) Side view of the badge to kinda clearly show the plastic part sticking out. Even if it's gone not sure if it's gonna stick since adhesive is flushed in.

3) Front of logo - This is what the front looks like.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks, that will take care of the nub problem. Unfortunately it looks like I'll still have to do some kind of modification after doing that though on the adhesive part. Unfortunately it looks like it's flushed too far in and will not stick to the trunk. I'm guessing I will need to put more double stick tape over the existing double stick tape. Thanks again!

Im not sure if there diffrent, but the one you have is the same thing that i took off my front grill, the way its mounted on the grill the part where it sticks to bubbles out as well soo it can stick. I dont know if the front emblem is the excact same as the rear emblem, but if they are diffrent looks like you bought the front emblem

Is that the 04-05 badge?

I'm also trying to install subaru on debadged trunk but still deciding which one to get:

Yes, it is the 04-05 badge, that's the one that I ordered anyways unless they accidentally sent me the wrong one. It definitely doesn't look the same as the 06 one in the back.

The part number matches the one that I bought so unfortunately it looks like it doesn't just stick right out of the box and needs some modifying before it can be used.

What the previous poster said is making some sense about it possibly being the front grill one...it matches the size of my front grill badge to a tee. I'm wondering if they somehow swapped the packaging before they sent it or something.
