Default New 2012 DMS 50mm model

Brand new for the upcoming race season, DMS has released an updated version of their entry level 50mm 2-way adjustable competition suspension systems.

Based on customer feedback over the previous years, DMS has made a major update on the strut bodies. Entirely CNC machined from billet aircraft grade aluminum, these bodies feature our new allignment system, as well as an integral breather.

Shown here is how the new allignment washer system works. The washer actually are recessed inside the strut body, so they stay in place and are easier to line up than previous versions

A close up of the washers also shows that each washer is laser etched with the amount of offset it provides.

The net integral breather, so no more screws and valves being torn off by flying debris!

The new system should reduce operation costs and spare parts required to the user over the entire season.

As of late 2010, DMS has integrated a new style teflon bushing as well as a double lip wiper seal that offers reduced friction, as well as nearly 2x the lifespan as previous generations. These bushings are a direct replacement to any DMS 50mm unit dating back to 1985, and again reduce the time between service intervals.

DMS has also updated both tarmac and gravel spec valving in the 2-way units to offer improved low speed shaft control resulting in better tire wear and increased traction in damp or slippery surface conditions.

As always, DMS's unique adjustable top mounts (manufactured under license by MSI) for a wide range of application still come with their lifetime warranty, even in competition use. To our knowledge, DMS / MSI is the only company to offer warranty on their products if you use them in competition?

so, besides the obvious (and very cool) design changes to the ears, are the inserts themselves any different? can I use my current DMS 50 inserts if I absolutely had to? What about the valving and adjustment?

old inserts / bodies are 100% interchangeble.
These are not an "ALL NEW" model like the 5-ways are ... they are merely a new evolution of a tried, tested, prooven, and more importantly ....a winning product.

If you have to drive your car every day, these are not for you. If you have to ask the price, they are not for you either ....

FWIW - I was quoted $6950 + ~$100 customs brokerage for these in STI fitment. This price includes the MSI top hats.
