Did anyone else see this? Is it true?

Subaru has pulled back the curtain on a pair of 2013 WRX and WRX STI Special Edition models ahead of their debut at the 2012 SEMA Show, which kicks off today in Las Vegas. Each car bows with a unique orange and black color scheme that carries over into the cabin. With black wheels, badges and side mirrors, it should easy to pick these machines out of a crowd. Indoors, designers have graced both sedans with a black headliner and the seats feature orange contrast stitching.

Mechanically, the Special Edition models remain unchanged from their more ordinary counterparts, which means buyers will enjoy 265 horsepower from the WRX and 305 ponies from the more muscular WRX STI. Even so, the flashy paint and trim might be enough to drag buyers to the showroom – if you count yourself among that crowd, best get to getting. Subaru is only planning to produce 200 examples of the WRX and another 200 of the WRX STI. Check out the official press blast below for more information, and stay tuned for our live shots from the SEMA show floor.

It's on subaru's website and says 200 wrx's and 100 sti's will be made. Available in March. AND this is like the 4th thread on it. Just smash a bunch of pumpkins on yours and you will have the same thing.

thats about the dullest background they could have chosen to take pictures of the rides, give some contrast, seriously unappealing.

Sometimes...I think Subaru really needs to hire some better photographers so yes, I would agree with your sentiments.

I'd get one but that orange is just too dull for y tastes. I'd need something brighter. Unless of course it's just the photography.

I like that the wrx comes with the same black pillar trim and headliner as the sti.

I like that they also come with the black side badges, which means hopefully we can order them.

Usually I don't mind the chrome housings, especially on my PBP... but this is mighty bewildering. All those black accents and no black housing headlights... I agree, that's a real head scratcher decision...

How has no one noticed this has already been posted?

2013 Subaru WRX and STI SEMA Special-Editions Honor Halloween

Also thanks for the other pic Evanston Subaru. Obviously it is highly photoshopped, just wonder what is the real color. If it's that dark then it looks great, if it is really that pukey light orange in the first post then no thanks.

The name of the color is the same as the XV crosstrek in Subaru's system.

Tangerine Orange Pearl.

There have been quite a few XVs already delivered in that color so i would assume you can get a better idea of the color in the real world.

It is about 2 shades too light for my personal taste. Wish they would have gone closer to the Cadillac color from a few years back that my buddy did on his bugeye:

iirc that is the burn orange that came on the Cadillac CTS back around 2003/4. He may have added a little more flake but I don't think so. I miss that car....

He sold off all the parts and the bare chassis is still sitting in a shop iirc.

He got out of the tuning world. Wish I could have come up with the cash to buy it as a whole car. It was BY FAR the cleanest and well put together WRX I have ever seen. It won numerous show trophies and had the capabilities to run 10 seconds flat on a strip, then just adjust the suspension and rape a road coarse with ease. So sad
