ebay just search subaru back up camera :P
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2007-11-Subar...item3f03e0af10 I'm not sure if the 08 is different, or these cameras were designed for jdm, but my license plate lights are attached to the body of the hatch and not the molding (which this is designed to mount to. so I just pulled the trim piece off, jb-weld'ed a plate of stainless steel across to which I screwed this into. tapped into the reverse light for power. the camera turns on and displays on the head unit within 2 seconds of shifting into reverse

If I had to take a random guess, without doing any research or anything, I would guess maybe 08685619.
And as if that wasn't enough, I just Googled "volvo sunglasses holder" and came up with everything you would ever want to know. A bunch of it is straight from Volvo parts websites. And people say it's only the 200k+ members that suck...oh, and SCIC. And Tino for the win! Last edited by Tony JDM; 02-05-2012 at 02:55 AM. Reason: use of teh googlez |

I saw the part number on the picture and it wasn't pulling anything up. Its actually 8685619. There are multiple Volvo sun glass holders as well, you know how some of the parts catalog pics can be so vague.
Just realized that was done on 08+, 07 handles are different... Hey Power6 can you get me measurements from hole to hole, as well as total length? that would be grreat Thanks! |

Prepping the spoiler for a ABS plastic insert. The center is going to be filled and blended to the spoiler.
The piece is CA glued in and the edges are heated and shaped to match the oem spoiler. You can see how nice and flush that ABS is sitting. Smaller pieces of ABS were heated, shaped and bonded to the ends of the spoiler to match the shape of the hatch. Rage filler is applied to the seams where the ABS was bonded. Time for some sanding next. |

Thanks mate
Theres no particular thing this car is being built for, just how i want it to look. but it should have enough power for drags and circuit work as well as being a decent street car.. Quote:

Cheers mate.. This project is nearing its end, i would love to do more stuff to it but i just need to focus on other things.. as the planning thinking as well as finding the right people to do this stuff takes alot of mental and physical time... |

The top is sanded down and ready for a coat of primer.
This small gap along the bottom of the spoiler will be filled with 1/8" ABS. I just followed the line on the top side of the spoiler and freehanded the ABS. It worked out really nice, and matches the shape of the hatch perfectly. After everything is matched up and sanded some primer is applied to the new spoiler. The top will be painted white as a base for the white carbon fiber. The bottom will be painted black, as a base for the 2x2 carbon fiber. |

I love this thread already.
Excuse my dirty ass car and ****ty cell pic. I hit a garbage can on the freeway and the mounting points of my passenger side foglight got cracked. My bumper was fine and the lens of the fog wasn't cracked at all...I had to figure something out that didn't require drilling into my bumper, so I went to home depot and got creative with some L brackets and a few bolts to move my license plate over my fog hole. :P |

BTW, why don't you measure the holes in the car, and then contact the seller? Also, im sure the site should say its measurements. |

I know this may not be unique as I've seen many attempts but nothing of what I was looking for. Here is my custom made duck bill/hole cover aha. I wanted something with a duck bill and do-luck was nice but couldnt find anything to pick up right away, so I decided to trade my STI trunk for WRX and plug the holes but previous owner I got the WRX trunk from tightened the bolts down for the spoiler way to much and made the holes cave in so I got creative . Like or dislike I would like some opinions, I've been asked numerous times around my area what that is on my trunk and ask to produce more, so i'm thinking about it. And sorry for the long story aha.
It is still not complete yet. I still want to smoothen out my welds and paint match it. If you're curious to know, this is made of 6061 T6 aluminum and cut/fined by hand in my garage. I'm also custom fabricating some other things, will update on that later. Last edited by ImTooLazy; 02-07-2012 at 12:09 AM. |
