Wrx Sti Forester swap ecu dilemma
I have a 05 wrx with a jdm sti forester motor swap DBW the whole shabang. Run but what i think is the jdm sti forester ecu 22611AJ542. Is there anyway to confirm that this? Like any markings on the motherboard etc?
Does anyone have or know where I could find the ecu pinouts for the jdm sti forester? My main issue is the car has ecutek on it. I'd rather not run it anymore. Wonder if I could use a usdm ecu?

Well, whatever ECU you run, it has to support a Drive By wire setup.
What are the specs on the motor... 2.0liter? 2.5liter? There were only a few JDM forester STI models out there |

Off a 05 forester sti. That's why I'm wondering if a usdm sti 05+ ecu would work. |

The 05+ STi ecus use immobilizers so that could be a potential problem. I would just look into getting the EcuTek software removed from the ECU you have since there doesn't seem to be much info on the JDM Forester STI ecu pinout.

If I'm not mistaken the Forester sti has a immobilizer so it's already wired then

Just buy a 04 FXT ecu. Auto is easier to find and cheaper. they have no immobilizer and u can just flash the 5spd rom to it. it works ive done it

Oh okay. So does the immobilizer check the ecu then tell the car to turn on? Not familiar with them. I have 2 USDM 04 fxt's both without immobilizers.
