Default Cobb Headers Latest:

From Josh at Cobb Tuning:

"As a reminder our old Stage 2 Power Package included the Borla Header and our old high flow cat. We will likely try to make a few other comparisons as well but may be limited on that. If anybody has a brand-x or whatever header that can stop in we would appreciate that as well. I will see if I could possibly talk the boss into some free dyno runs for those that bring in brand-x’s headers. But I will not go through the expense of ordering other company’s headers for a comparison. In some cases it may be the first time that Brand-x’s headers see a dyno."

http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ulti...4;t=000903;p=3

If anyone has any Brand-X headers (TWE, MRT, Brullen, SYMS, etc)and would allow Cobb to use them as a means of putting together a consistant header comparison please contact Josh and inquire about the possible date.

That is, if your in the Utah area...

4673 South Cherry St. (440W)
Salt Lake City, UT 84123

Many fellow Subaru enthusiasts would be greatful for your efforts to help put an end to the "which header is better..." dilemma.

As noted later in the thread they would likely put your header on their test car for the 7 or so runs so that the results are as consistant as possible.

Let's say I order the equal length headers without the cat.
Will these connect to the factory cats, or does it go straight to the mid-pipe? I want a cat and the coating, but don't got that much $$ as of yet.

This link has all your header information.

The main reason for this thread is to spur some interest in having people come out for the dyno day. You can find all the information im privilaged to on Cobbtuning.com

To answer the most common question.

Cobb Tuning headers were designed to work with ANY (yes.... ANY ) cat back exhaust system that bolts up to the stock header.

If you purchase the CT headers with or wihtout the cat, it will bolt up to your existing catback. Headers without a cat come with a test pipe.

And to further clear up the confusion...NO it will not work with your stock cats...it will onlt work with your CAT-BACK. But as mentioned all these questions are answered in the thread...

mk750,
Link to Cobb's site off their forum(upper left corner) and you can see pics of the prototypes in the RS power packages section...

I cant wait for this to happen. This should definitly come into play when I make my decision on which header to go with this summer. Although I am leaning away from COBB, and many others, since they do not terminate in the stock location, a concern of mine if I ever go turbo like I plan to.

Josh just posted an update on their site. They will a little later because they have changed the spec on the cats. The upside is they are going with a higer quality unit than initially spec'd...

Default Group BUY!

Is there a possibility of a group buy for these badboys in the near future? I definitely want to buy a set by Jan. Anyone else in?
Btw, those headers look great! Are those the ceramic coated ones?

I wouldn't be expecting a group buy anytime soon(they just came out and haven't even shipped yet). So best fork over the cash if you want them by january.

Yep,
The group buy was those of us who ponied up the cash 2 months ago to get the first shipment of them. Since Cobb is not a vendor here, don't expect to see any sort of deal on them in the near future. And the dyno #'s should be up on MOnday from what I've been told...

Question "To Cat" or "Not to Cat"

I plan on going catless when I buy these headers. Anyone have an idea if I'll get a CEL? will I get a CEL with the high flow?

you will get a CEL w/o a cat; the rear O2 sensor is there to tell you if your cat is working or not.
