Default JC Sports Torque chip related at all to neutral switch engine light prob?

Has anyone that's decided to install a JC Sports Torque chip had problems with their engine light coming on related to a neutral switch warning. The neutral switch (from what I understand) is a warning that makes the check engine light come on if you start the car in gear. Well, my light has been coming on as I'm driving the car but my dealership is saying it's the neutral switch that's making the engine light come on. I have had the torque chip in for a year now (and love it) and haven't had any problems before this.

Also, what's the deal with JC's site? (do they have a new one?)
Sorry if this is an old question (haven't been on i-club for awhile as all I do is work too much).

...........and no I DON'T have an automatic.

Thanks for any info.

Have you taken your car to a dealership b/c of the engine light?
If so, what did they say was causing the light to come on?

on an auto, it doesn't allow you to start the car unless it is in P or N. on a standard, it makes you step down on the clutch before you can start your car.

Joel at JC Sports told me about 4 weeks ago when I got that CE light at the drags that this happens to a few subarus out there and there might be a sevice bulletin out there to get the Neutral position switch replaced (or something like that). Didn't say anything about it being the torque chip - not sure I understand myself how it could do that, knowing how it works and all.

Thanks for the reply and I'll probably talk to Joe.
Flatirons told me that they can't figure it out other that the fact that the chip may be causing the light to go on. Obviously, it's hard to know if there really is a problem and it's reading incorrectly or if the chip is setting it off for some weird reason or if there really is a problem with the neutral switch.
Since it's happened twice in 2 weeks I'd have to point the finger at the chip.

Thanks,
Brad
