Emailed my rep Friday morning, she called last night at like 7. Only to tell me she saw my email and has been busy, but no car yet. I went on my dealerships website and looked under their new inventory for WRX and STi, and they had about 7 or so listed with only stock photos. Maybe 1 or 2 were available, all the others had "in transit" next to them. My STi was not listed. So my friend called and asked when they were expecting them to arrive, and they told him anywhere from yesterday through the 25th. Which is also what my rep told me on the phone as well. So I'm hoping tonight or tomorrow.

lol! I haven't seen my sister in over a year so that's more important to me than getting my car a day early. Wish it would have came yesterday but oh well. As long as I get it before Friday when I go out of town I'm perfectly happy.

I was just happy to get the words "sister" and "spanking" in the same sentence...

Your whole ordeal gives me nightmares and is starting to worry me as its been 9 weeks and I haven't got a VIN yet Hopefully they make it up to you because your wait seems ridiculous that there lead times are that poor. Damn Japanese are making a good buck getting our USD now more than ever. They are dragging out these order times because the USD is appreciating in comparison the JPY quite significantly over the past 6 months. Prob not the real reason, but I wouldn't doubt someone over there is taking this into account.

1USD=82JPY in DEC
1USD=102JPY currently

we pay in USD, profit gets shipped back to Japan

$500 USD profit in DEC = 41000 JPY
$500 USD profit now = 51000 JPY good %25 bump do to currency fluctations

If you factor in order lead, build time, shipping time, port time, and final shipping time, a little over 3 months doesn't seem like that bad. Yea, it sucks. Yea, I wish I had an ETA and had gotten a VIN prior to week 11. Dealers also factor in with priority and such. Hell, I got my VIN from the dealer website before the dealer knew they had it...

16+ weeks on the other hand, that's just wrong ;-)

Yeah but still if everything is done at port and they can predict demand halfway decent they should be able to get that down somewhat. lol I feel like they are pulling an Apple and trying to hype up demand for a product that is so in demand they can't produce enough to keep up.

Hehe... pulling and Apple :-)

TBH, I wouldn't have ordered if there were any STis that were base with nav in my area. There a ton of different color & level wrx's available here and I don't think any believed price difference in order VS. Lot buy would have been worth 12+ weeks.

Talked to my sales guy and mine is still due in July but he said it is too late to change an accessory that is pre-installed port items... Maybe that means it is done and on its way...

Or I am just trying to make myself feel better about the wait.

False hope sucks.

Absolutely nothing like having a brand new car that has only been owned by you.

First new car im buying lol I've been driving the handy down minivans/old people boats since I was 16. Now that I'm 23 and working the big boy job I can afford to drive a decent car.

Heh... I assume I'll think that too, similar to my house, until the maintenance kicks in :-p

Nice dude! Congrats. My dealer doesn't work Tuesdays, so there's still hope that I'll get a call this week.
