Driving around with too much oil is not good for the engine. Either:
1. Take it back 1st thing and make them fix it, for FREE. This equates to a new oil change w/filter. 2. Go to an AutoZone/Advanced Auto/etc., get a transfer pump (~$10), and pump out the extra oil. Thing is, if they put in too much oil, they probably never changed the oil filter. See #1. |

First of all double, triple check your oil level on "level" ground. i checked mine the other day on a small incline and it read over one qt low. Pulled up on a flat surface as I was pretty sure it wasn't low and sure enough it was just right. Still way too much in yours, I'd call first and tell them what you found if you want them to take care of it. Invite them to come take a look if they don't believe you.
With 5 quarts too much they didn't do something right and owe you a total rework, possibly two. Before driving you could pull the plug and drain out either appx half or all and then refill to the appropriate level before driving back. if you don't have far to go and don't want to change anything prior to them seeing it, drive really easy with low RPMs. Hwy61 |

This is another time when a fumoto valve would come in handy. Easy to drain some out...

Same thing happened to me on my last oil change (Jiffy Lube). I work in a lab so I was able to use a pipet-aid with some tubing and suck it out of the dip tube. Took out about half a quart to get it down to the right level.
I will be doing all of my own changes from now on. |

get a 50cc syringe and a matching plastic tubing and just withdraw from the dip stick opening. A can of beer would certainly help , just put the cold beer gently on top of the intercooler ....
syringe $2 , tubing $1, beer $1 total $4......the cooling of the intercooler--priceless. Last edited by ronf; 11-21-2005 at 08:09 AM. |

Check your tranny fluid level. He may have drained it instead.
