I recommend using Dynamic advance, boost, and many other things often if you can. Creating peice of mind about how the car is running isn't that hard with the Accessport. Using Wastegate duty cycle can also help determine causes of boost issues if you kow what you looking at. voltage is also helpful to 2.0 cars pre-flash.

Since the utec is not mentioned in the thread title, or the OP's post, I will stay away from that topic.

I'm curious how many custom tunes on the 1.0 Accessport have ran into the map file size limitation in the 1.0 Accessport.

If one wants to flash a map and never do anyhting after that, I can't imagine a better EM than an Accessport. Unfortuantely not every car is alike so chcking acouple thihngs is always a good idea.

That being said, I think the reliability of the unit and cars using it has been breat compared to EM systems of yore.
I figured our cars didn't come with full WB02's from the factory... makes sense. Although my previous 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 actually did come with a full wideband from the factory, which I thought was pretty odd. I know a couple people who stripped their WB02's (putting in DP's) in their MS6/MS3's and it ended up costing them a little over $300 for a replacement sensor. Thanks for clearing that up.

It did take me a bit to write that up, but like said earlier. Getting the right info out is what is important.
Sorry I missed it if this has been discussed before, but do you have plans to release any Street Tuner type software for the V2?

Does Cobb still give a discount for us early AccessECU customers when we buy the v2 AccessPort?

I know they did for the v1, so hopefully they still hook up the first, loyal customers.

There is currently a plan to release streetuner for the Accessport 2.0.

There is no certain release date but it is coming up very soon.

In regards to the AccessECU upgrade. That upgrade was only available with the Accessport 1.0. The flashing information is quite a bit different in the Accessport 2.0 and therefore, involves a new license

You mean the v1 can't be reflashed with a new map? Or do you mean some other kind of update?

(I'm planning on getting a v1 and reflash it with a stage 1 map. It currently has a VF34 map.)

Maps can be loaded and unloaded.

when I say update I mean Actually update the programing firmware on the Accessport.

You should be able to move maps back and forth no problem. If you do have a problem, contact Cobb or do a search online. I'm sure you will get help as there are many people that have used the Accessport succesfully.

Here and cobbforums.com are the places I would recommend searching.

Bump and official sticky request.

Second anyone?

Also, please do not reference quoted posts. I have edited my original post as additional AccessPORT models have been released. Also, updates have been released since the original post I made in this thread.

v1 all the way ... save 300 $ and that can be used for a pro tune .. much better than any accessport tune .. and BTW those live data stats on the accessport are terribly unaccurate .. my friend with a stock 04 wrx got 13.6 on 1/4 mile ... ha

He may want to update his firmwae, we've been working on that.

Keep in mind it's not a quarter mile track. It's the Accessport timing how long it takes the car to move a quarter mile (in wheel rotations)

Aftermarket wheels and tires that are a diffirent size will throw the accuracy off. Amongst other variables that can cause innaccurate times

I would respectfully dissagree that any custom tune would be better than an Accessport map. Thats not always the case. Especially if you have the spec'd mods for the AP map.

How about for the USDM MY07 STI? Is the Cobb 1.03 MY07 STI map better than a custom tune?

BTW, when is a new OTS map for the MY07 STI going to be available? Please do not forget about your current customers.

I'm not sure when they will be available but I do know we have more testing and develpment time lined up with a 2007 STi test car. I would hope these maps will be available shortly after we complete testing and development. When that will be I can't be certain.

In regards to your questions, I would say it depends on the tuner and the car.

07 STi new maps? - Cobb Forums page 6

It seems as though there are some offers to help get things going but these people are not being responded to. Maybe I am not in the know.

It is getting harder to recommend Cobb products. The way I see it is that Cobb has moved on to bigger and better things. Again, maybe because I am not in the know. But, from a consumer view, it feels like we MY07 STI owners are being left out from a product we have already paid for.

I was going to get the ap v1 for 300 for my 06 wrx, not looking for anything serious. But I guess the ap v2 would be the best buy....

So if i understand correct the AP V2 is the same for both the 08 WRX and the 08 Sti, what would happen if i bought an AP for my 08 WRX and then next year bought an 08 STi? Would i just need to get an 08 STi Map? Sorry new to the subaru world.
