I can hook you up with Kenzie's quote if you want, but you'd have to message me on Clubwrx.net using the same username as here, or contact me at work (ramsey subaru) since I am not a paying vendor here. I'm trying to help Kenzie out with his local deals since his boss pulled out of the forums and he is my buddy.

I'm working via email with a few local dealers to get quotes for an STI order.

Can I order a base with a lip spoiler? One of them is making it seem like that isn't possible. Wrote me saying three options were base, limited with wing, limited with lip.

Do I have to order entire package to the short throw shifter? I really have no interest in rear bumper guard, floor liner, etc.

The only other option I want is armrest extension.

Sorry for the newbie questions...
Have you driven the STI and felt it's shifter? It is already a factory short throw. The accessory STS you can add only shortens the throw another 10% which is quite negligible. I consider it one of the biggest waste of money accessories. Even the cheaper after market. The "feel" difference is simply not worth that money......to ME. Just putting in a thought. To each his/her own though. You seem unsure of other accessories. Deleting the STS, you could put that money towards anything else you want.

To find out what check and see if it is a port install. Dealer install or factory install option. Dealer and port you often should get the stock parts. Factory. No.

Example. Short throw shifter. Often you will see the stock shifter in the trunk in a box after they install the STS one at the port. But sometimes the dealer sees it and takes it and they can use it as a part to make free money on in the service department.
That doesn't happen with SOA cars. Maybe the independents. I don't know. There are no "factory" options. Just trims. Otherwise, they are "port" installed. Literally at the port for Gunma cars and I forget the name of the building at SIA. The only dealer installed parts that could be kept when it's debatable to give to the customer(I'm on the customers side of this argument) are the wheel packages. If you decide to install a STS after the car arrived at the dealer(dealer installed), they had BETTER give you the original part. Especially if you had already signed for the car.

I was able to get the short throw shifter, homelink/autodim mirror, and armrest extension for $25,500 after ambassador coupon and before financing.

But then I sat in a new STI without it and it felt fine. Also the center console without the extension has a nice finish that I assume is covered by the rather cheap-feeling plastic armrest extension (the one on my current car fell apart after 3 years, and the ones they use on the new ones appear to be very similar, if the not the same, part)
I got the JDM armrest extension from Subispeed. It uses the stock armrest but adds a few inches and an extra compartment by going in between the center console and the stock armrest. Much better than the one the dealer tries to sell which feels cheap and flimsy and swaps out the stock armrest with the plastic feeling one.

As a dealer, in my experience, 90% of the time you get the stock shifter, armrest, mirror etc. when you upgrade. They are under no obligation to give it to you, nor does the dealer control it (assuming we are talking about an ordered car). If you really want the stock parts (they have pretty much 0 value) and the dealer did not get them in a box in the car from the port, just ask the dealer and they 99% should be able to give you one as there are tons of them laying around. If you need any of those parts and your dealer didn't include them, just ask me. I have like 1000 stock mirrors and shifters around here.
