![]() not sure where wikipedia got their info (cause I see the 2800 lbs claim as well), but according to a few other sites I've visited, every version of the turbo (manual/auto) weighed more than 3000 lbs.

Do YOU want to pay to replace the motors on those stupid things when they act up 10 years into a car's life (or earlier), or are you one of those people that thinks of cars as disposable things you're going to replace ever 3-5 years ![]() ![]() I typically own cars late into their life and have to deal with all the shortcomings of things hitting their failure points. I'd prefer cheap, easy replacements with a focus on minimal extra **** that can go wrong. Keeping it stupid simple is an art form lost on modern automotives. |

I'm strongly considering one of these in a few years. The wife gave me the thumbs up. This would likely be a long-term car as it'd be a third car, garage kept. I'd much prefer to avoid too many gizmos and gadgets especially on a Subaru. VW has been doing gismos and gadgets for so long that they've worked out the kinks, Subaru, not so much. Although I guess if the tech is coming from Toyota/Lexus, I might be a bit more up for it. |

![]() That works! I wasn't aware you could do it.
I'd say the chances of it breaking and staying aligned or being aligned straight ahead instead of breaking mid-turn and sticking that way are small. Justy's suggestion works perfectly, though. If it's a permanent setting I can disable, it then becomes a non-issue. |

![]() I bet there's a manual override kind of thing where you can align them, if they break in a cross eyed position.
bottom line, lots of options and the safety feature is hardly the end of the world if it breaks. |

![]() LOL
Are we seriously discussing unfounded theoretical breakages of Subaru SRHs? First, those motors are meant for ungodly amounts of runtime and activations. Second, there has been no known said breakages. Correct me if I am wrong. Third, my Ascent headlights are so badass I do not think I want another Subaru without them. I would gladly cough up for a headlight if I still own the vehicle outside of warranty. |

![]() My dad has a Mercedes that has headlights with motors in it. One side broke and it was permanently pointed down, like with the cutoff on the ground 6 feet in front of the car. No replaceable parts, just a new headlight assembly at those prices (~$1,000 for one). His warranty either just ran out, or it didn't cover it. I think he ended up claiming it on his insurance. Pretty ridiculous. I would opt out if given the choice.

![]() I like it, but not enough to get rid of the 2020tS I just purchased.
Like any other Subaru, the design grows on you after about 4-5 years. |

![]() but will subaru reward enthusiasts with a STI performance exhaust and very unique and lighter cold air intake. they have a chance to prove to us that we can get the power and handling without needing the turbo. they already took care of the torque dip

![]() Now that you mentioned it, I'm really surprised Subaru didn't release a STI exhaust or intake. TRD did for the FRS/86. They could have just rebranded the TRD units.
