Default Are there any newer Subaruís that are bulletproof?

My wife and I have a 2007 Outback and Forester. Both almost 200k and sheís looking for a replacement, same size or bigger for a commuter. What years/models are super reliable if any anymore? Budget is 15 thousand or less and sheís looking for something NEWer. Sheíd like to go with Subaru but we arenít sure if we want to roll the dice on expensive CVT transmissions. Are there any recommended newer Subaru wagons that we could buy in budget and expect to last without major issues? We drive 20k+ yearly... each.

I would search consumer reports or something like that. People on this forum are more enthusiasts and might push there vehicles more.

I have my 04 WRX wagon for 17 years and 145k. Still runs great and it is heavily modified. But others have gone though engines and trannies. So it is very variable. In general subies are pretty reliable. Need to search for TSBs and issues with specific years and models.

If you want a Subaru wagon and no CVT, you're talking Crosstrek with a manual. I have a 19. I obviously like them as this is my second. The newer HTCVT is reliable. A Forester will have this. We also have a 17 Legacy and the trans feels nothing like earlier CVTs. We also have a 13 Crosstrek Limited CVT, so know what that tranny feels like.
