If they really want to be purist, shouldn't it have the original Rover K-Series motor instead of the Toyota mill?

Thats a nice way to spin: "taking advantage of more favorable exchange rates and deoptioning about 200$ of crap off a normal touring/sport equipped elise". It does seem like a good deal though as the window sticker on my 05 sport and touring equipped elise was 47,7. This should also ensure the further downward spirle of used lotus prices....
Purist model should and does come with the sport option apparently. |

A 'purist' car would have no leather and probably no air conditioning, either. And for all that $40,000 is still a lot. |

Ahh... memories...
I remember that the family who lived a few doors down from the road from the primary school I attended in England had a British Racing Green one of those. It was the first Elise that I had seen, and he had one less than a week after they were released back then.. I remember walking to school every morning and spending a few minutes every day in front of his driveway just gawking at the thing, wondering what it was like to drive, even though I wasn't near old enough to drive. Ah the memories |
