This should be a 04 WRX:

This is an 04 STi:

I also have 04 FXT and that is what I'm trying to get the 04 STi cluster into.

I have a few little things to clarify before I feel comfortable putting up a 2004 diagram.

^^^^^^Don't need to

Oh here's the diagram guys.

This works for my 2004 WRX using a 2004 USDM STi. Use at your own risk.....I'm not responsible if you damage something.

does it matter what year cluster i get for my 04 wrx? will it be easier to connect a 04 USDM sti cluster or will it be the same install setup regardless of the year sti cluster i use? thanks

The Ver7 does not black out. It is very much like the USDM 02-03 WRX cluster, except:
-it has the shift light
-it has the tach in the middle
-that whole km/h vs mph thing

(FWIW I'll have for sale soon)

it does black out, and all needles come to "rest" when ignition is off. I noticed only the water temp and the fuel quantity gauge rises when the the key's turned once. No activity for the rest of the needles. There isnt a defi sweep too. When crank it behaves just like a normal wrx cluster will be.
04sti jdm, reads max at 180kmph

Anyone know if an 07 STI cluster will work in an 03 wrx? I see a lot of people doing 06-07 wrx to 06-07 sti's and 04-05's to 04-05's and lots of combinations of that...but i didn't see anyone doing a 07 swap into the 02-03's.

Any wiring issues with this?

ok so i have my bugeye 02 wrx UK edm version we have no cruise control here, and fitted sti 7 uk clocks (non dccd) these worked fine no problems,

Now i got hold of a 05 uk sti dccd cluster see pic below

most works fine plugs straight in, outside temp, shift light and buzzer, fuel and temp level, no fuses blown out.

only probs are rear diff temp and abs light on at bottom and dccd in top green is on..
