How are you cleaning the dash 2012 impreza?
Hey guys,
How is everyone cleaning their dash? Mine's starting to collect some dust and I want to make sure to treat this baby right and not using anything that could dry out the soft-touch material. In cars past I just used the Armor-All wipes, first a cleaning wipe and then the shining one. Also, any tips on cleaning the radio LCD display and gauge cluster? Thanks a bunch!

i personally like finish kare #108 top kote
http://www.autogeek.net/finish-kare-...rotectant.html it has anti-static properties to help with dust build up and the shine can be controlled by how much you buff it. less buff more shine, more buff less shine. fk108 can also be used as a tire dressing giving tires a nice matte shine and does not fling everywhere. |

My two personal favorites have been Einszett Cockpit Premium and Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer. Both will not leave any notable sheen on surfaces and will simply make the finish look clean and "OEM". I don't like any sort of additional shine on the components of my interior. ...both can also be used on most of the surfaces and I even use it lightly on LCD's. They also have a clean, citrus-like scent that isn't overpowering and wont linger more than a few hours. Leaves everything smelling fresh.
My preference has been more toward Meguiars QID since you can now buy it under their Detailer line by the gallon. ....much cheaper than 1Z CP and very, very similar in characteristics. |

Everything sticks to the dash. I have always used a swiffer duster in other cars. Seems to make it worse in this car.

I just use the slightly wet MF towel that has Invisible Glass on it from cleaning my windshield beforehand..works fine and doesn't leave the surface sticky or shiny

I'm using Meguiar's leather and vinyl cleaner. I used it once, seems to work fine and doesn't make it shiny.

opti-clean for general interior wipe down and optimum protectant for treatment.
opti-clean is a waterless wash product that buffers stuff that can scratch surfaces while you wipe, so it's perfect for interior even though most people use it for exterior wash purposes. it's like the ultimate instant detailer in a way. it has LEGIT cleaning power. you can even buy the gallon container for $40 which yields 5 gallons of solution. that will last you a LONG time as a DIY user. i primarily use it a lot for cleaning the front of my vehicles between washes and general interior wipe down. if you have stubborn spots, optimum powerclean @ 10:1 is perfect. here are some links: http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-clean-128.html http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-protectant-plus.html http://www.autogeek.net/128oz-optimu...clean-apc.html |

ArmorAll all the way. Doesn't leave streaks on the radio screen either. Wiping down the whole dash with a microfiber towel works before the ArmorAll works great.

Use a damp microfiber with water to take off the major chunks and crap, then Einzett Cockpit is the only thing that is needed. Anything that shines, leaves a greasy finish, leave it where you found it.

Dash cleaning
I keep a swiffer duster in a ziplock bag in the glove box. It sucks the dust right off of the dash and the nav screen

Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer, I like that it's Non greasy nor too shiny and as it's LCD screen safe use it to clean my PC Monitors and HD TV as well.

It works pretty well IMO/IME. I purchased some a while back but since I have run out I have yet to buy another bottle. I mostly use Meguiars APC or APC+ in an appropriate dilution which works "ok".

303 is the best stuff I have ever used - also great for exterior plastic and rubber parts - not to mention the engine compartment hoses, etc - made my 2003 look new(er) again.

This is good information to hear. I definitely don't want to make the dash shiny. Meguiars worked quite well on my other car, armorall left it greasy

Vinegar & micro fiber towels. The car smells like a pickle only for a short time, but it cleans well. You can do your glass with vinegar & coffee filters, too. My wife turned me on to these.
