Default Can't connect to stock ECU with Tactrix cable.

Currently have the Cobb Accessport V1 on the car and was able to datalog with it still installed (married) to the car. I un-married it from the car which is supposed to set the stock ECU back to the factory configuration. After I did that I wasn't able to connect to the computer and reflash it using the tactrix cable. I was using all of the latest software, and tried every subaru listed to try and get it to connect and it never worked. It's a friend's cable and it works fine on his EVO and Legacy GT.

Also, we tried it with the green connectors connected, dis-connected, with the jumper wire, without the jumper wire, and all combinations. Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.

Jason

to reflash or pull a map off the ecu the green connectors need to be connected as does the jumper wire.

as for the tactrix cable connection, make sure you are using the correct COM port on your computer. try using a different USB plug or set the com settings in the program to whichever usb port you are currently using.

You should be using the Openport driver within ECUflash. It does not require picking a COM port.

You definitely need the green connector and flash block connected. There is no use trying with either disconnected even as a troubleshooting step.

You must click the Read (or write) button in ECUFlash, get the pop-up box, and then you must turn the key to Run (not crank, not Acc) and press the OK button in ECUflash at as close to the same time as possible. If you turn the key and wait to click OK in ECUflash it won't work. If you click ok in ECUflash and wait too long to turn the key, ECUflash will fail before the car is even listening for the connection. People consistently screw this part up.

You can also check the white connector to make sure it is getting 12 volts.

Well we tried it about 10 minutes ago and I already forgot exactly what it said when we tried to connect but it was something along the lines of, "does have the required features to connect to this ecu". We again tried every car listed, and this was on a different laptop than last time.

I'm wondering if it's the wrong cable. The cable he has works on his 03 evo and his 05 legacy gt. He originally bought it for the evo (probably a 1.3M cable) and according to the page that lists what cable works with what car http://openecu.org/index.php?title=E...VehicleSupport that cable won't work with any wrx's except sti's. But that 1.3U (universal) says it will work with anything and looks identical to the 1.3M (mitsubishi) cable. Any ideas about that? If I can't figure anything out I guess I'll call a tactrix dealer next week and see if they've run into this before.

Yeah that's the only thing I could think of too but I thought it was weird that I could still datalog everything just fine. I called Tactrix today and they said the same thing pretty much so I ordered a Univeral cable that works with and Subaru.
