WTF? Curious ... When did you start hearing the knock? Early in the morning on a cold start or did it happen while driving down the road?

Maybe you'll get lucky. Given the change to the cold weather - the timing belt idlers and tensioner can produce a nice loud knocking noise when they are going bad. This sound will continue to happen until the car is fairly warmed up. In really bad cases, it will continue to knock even after the car is fully warmed up ... and, honestly, this knocking sounds horrible and could be mistaken for bottom end knock.

... I know because I have had it on my car for over 2 years. This summer I plan to swap out all of the idlers and tensioner.

hmmm that would certainly be a good scenario but not sure how plausible it is since all the idler pulleys, tensioner were replaced during the swap... I gota sweat it out till they check it out tomorrow

Thanks Guys Ill keep you posted (My guess is spun bearing due to the oil starvation a while back although I had also thrown a cam position sensor that was never really diagnosed beyond a loose sensor i dunno if that could somehow be a culprit)

Next meet will be on the 16th. Given that you, me, and Jase are the regulars, I am going to start a new post for the biweekly so that I can keep it up to date. It only makes sense.

It's just a thread, anyone can post times and dates on it, figured we've gone this far with it might as well keep it rolling. My work schedule had me working Tuesdays, but looks like I've freed them up again so I look forward to seeing everyone again. Although I'll be driving my Civic because my Scooby is gettin a new heart
