Default snow tire question

what are the pros/cons to having 195/60R 15 snow tires on my 06 impreza 2.5, versus having the recommended stock 205/55R 16?

I assume this is a crosspost of the one in the newbies section.

Nothing except a misreading speedometer and possibly slightly worse mileage due to the change in gearing. Since you mentioned in the other thread that you're asking because of a set you have available (rather than buying new), go for it. They'll work fine.

there arnt going to be any serious downsides other than dry grip as sniper said you will have a little lower gearing and because of that your spedo will be slightly off, nothing to worry about though.
