I'll add that I installed paint protection film over my 2005 STi headlights when new. A couple years ago I put on a new set of film. Headlights are still 'like-new' after 13+ years. Bonus over waxing or sealing is the level of rock damage to the lens is minimal.

Depending on how bad the headlights are, you will need a buffer, some cutting compound, various grits of sandpaper, and a sealant.

I had a local place put XPEL protective film on my headlights. It has been on for a year now and so far it has worked great.
