Default Is the any common problems with the Nissan 350z?

I am thinking about picking one up. How are the transmission and motor? Has anyone heard of any problems? Has anyone driven one? What do you think?

Check some forums but it seems like MT tranny problems are kind of common.

I have driven an auto 350Z, and it was pretty nice. They look awesome, and move pretty good too.

It seems like every car has manual tranny problems.

It seems like every car form you read it seems like there are MT problems. Mostly I think it is the driver but you never know.

I believe that the question mark implied that he was asking about these points.

I would take a WRX over a base 350Z.

Yeah, there's sports cars with way better power, handling, and features for that price.

Oh, wait. No there aren't. The only vehicle it competes with is the RX-8, and while I'd take the RX-8 based on what I know, it's not a clear winnAr.

still not overpriced (IMO), considering the equipment you get (ex: Rays forged wheels/Brembo brakes/HIDs/underbody diffusers, etc....).

I'm with mrtrex and scubie on this one, I'd take a 350Z over an STi.

The 350Z is a great car for the price and has received rave reviews from SCC, Car and Driver, etc.

but it always comes down to the 'apples and oranges' argument. i've driven 3 Z's so far (one touring, 2 enthusiasts) each on extended drives, and they are AWESOME cars. steering, power, balance, whatever. they are just wonderful vehicles--very poised. don't get me wrong i have an ongoing love-affair with my REX, but will someday own a Brickyard red Z. as for the STi, all i have to say is-----*drool*---------but i've never driven one, so my subjective opinion is nil.

350z is a sweet, well executed car. Chassis dynamics are very good, and I love the looks. I think I would take an STI over the Z though, the STI is faster stock, but what clinches it for more is that the STI is so multi purpose. Alll that is needed to have an amazing car for all weather conditions is a second set of wheels and tires. The Z is not a winter car whatsoever, whereas the STI will still be its badass self all through the winter.

So mtrex and scubie...you'd take a 350Z over a STi? I'm asking since they NEVER STATED their opinion beforehand.

why the ??? i've never driven an STi. if i had the choice between one or the other, i would almost DEFINITELY take an STi (in white please), considering how much i love my WRX. i'll pick up a Z at some point in my life though, prolly as a 2nd car (heh, when i hit the lottery).

again, two different cars for two different purposes..........no need to get all huffy.

Rear wheel drive isn't that bad in the winter. You just have to accept that you need winter tires. Most of the weather related accidents I see in the winter are braking related not drive related.
