My favorite mod on my ASP car so far has been my Sparco Sprint.
I know I'm going to transition into SM eventually, but for the next year or two I like having limitations.

ASP Lite car is more than fast enough to win 9/10 local events in SM lol. (luckily subydude is not in my region...)

Had some skinny tire-d Subaru weather bring my co-driver and I a 1-2 finish in a 5 driver ASP class at the PittRace Slick Track Solo Nationals Match Tour a few weekends ago. We were really hoping to see how the car compared to the Hockenbury 1M that trophied at Nationals last year but they had major power delivery issues and were wayyyyy off pace. Lowered the rear just a hair which combined with running the cdiff in the right position seems to have brought some more speed. Hopefully can make it out to another National Tour before the big dance in September!

295/15s going on my buddy’s FD3S ASP RX7. It’ll be game over once that car is dialed in. Maybe the boost buggies will still have a shot at pros.

Well got 295/30/18's A7's to fit on the front of my VA with 9.5" et42 wheels with no fender roll. Tire was just barely kissing the spring so an Et40 or ET39 would probably be ideal. I was running a reverse stagger setup with a 275/35/18 in the rear on the same wheels and the front end grip was a huge step up from when I had the 275's up there. I think this should work until I can figure out how to squeeze 295's in the back (only so I can figure out how to fit a 315 up front). I think the staggered fitment is pretty ideal since the rear just doesn't pick up heat like the front does (we were only spraying the fronts on an 80 deg day).

Racing Subies with huge wide tires just off set them out, PAST the fenders, with Very Stiff Springs, to keep them fenders off the rubber.

If you're overheating the fronts and not getting heat in the rears there's something else going on. My car weighs less than yours (min weight is 2,970 so it's roughly 3,000) and puts heat in 335 square just fine.
Also, there's a lot of tricks in SM that allow for clearance, but even so on a GC you have to move the tire out eventually. I use 18x12 +20's which, in comparison to the stock setup is about 4" of poke. And while most of us have stiff(er) springs, it's not to keep the tire off the fender. It's to make sure we're not rolling too much. You cut the fenders for clearance, not reduce grip by running stupid stiff springs. Last edited by subydude; 06-04-2018 at 02:42 PM. |

Agreed. Should have no problem getting heat into the rears. I've even been able to burn my rears over my fronts.

I think Stompy topped out at 315 since it was before the 335's were available. But even so I'm not sure the 335's would have physically fit and been able to turn in SP anyway due to inbound items that can't be fixed until SM.
There is a point where the car is too wide. |

If so are you able to distribute weight better? I did drop the rear of the car some in comparison to the front to try to help balance it out more. My spring rates are equal front to rear (650's) and I have a slightly bigger front bar than stock. I have a slightly bigger rear to experiment with too but I don't think that would help distribute weight any better. I've been thinking about trying a higher front spring rate and maybe going back to the stock front bar too. |

That's likely way to soft for rear spring rates since you've got the multilink rear suspension. On hoosiers I'd expect a bit more front spring rate and then try a stock front bar. Balance the car with camber. Lowering it doesn't do nearly as much. Not saying it does nothing, but the right camber setting is way more useful than ride height |
