In your world it isnt. I accept that.

But in mine GRC compares to WRX only.

So i understand the pricing of STi vs GRC and am not confusing apples with oranges.

There are 26 available and MSRP is 38,xxx. How can you afford a new BMW but not know how to use a search tool?

In november of 2022 i got my vb for 28.9k for your info. So base GRC is really close to 10k over VB which is the only car it should be compared to, not an STi. Thats ~33% pricier.
you can compare a WRX to a GRC if you want, and you can think the WRX is a great deal compared to the GRC.

I'm glad you found a car that you feel is a good value.

Absolutely, likewise. But that was not our argument. I pointed out that just because you could wait and got what you wanted does not translate in anyone being able to get whatever they want, because you dont get to build a GRC but rather buy whats allocated to the market.

Also, you can compare the GRC to whatever you want, its a free world especially in your head. But dont expect others to agree or reality to reflect the pricing you feel it should reflect based on some biased or idiotic comparisons.

I wouldn’t hire you.

Actually your replies make a lot more sense now that you have disclosed BMW ownership (or is it leaseship?)

Didn't he say he owns his own company? Multiple actually? Which, for some odd reason, intrigues me based on his posts. "Not hiring" him is more to me of "I wouldn't patron" his businesses. If he acts like this to his customers....

Easily 20-22k (going by Cargurus), They're showing me a 2019 (Non limited) with 14k mi going for $22.4 in FL, and a 2020 (non Ltd) in ID with 18k miles going for $22.8. Though in AZ there is a silver limited with 15k miles going for $26k.

If yours is an STI, theres a 2020 Limited in OH with 15.7k miles going for $33k, In WA theres a 19 STI (Non ltd) with 14.3k miles going for $36.8k. So anywhere from $32-36k depending on where its sold.

Truly some solid returns for VA gen.

Must be a regional thing. Carmax around here wants 28k for a 2020 premium with 36kmi on it. Kbb trade is 24k, private party 26.

didn't know we were arguing, and certainly didn't know we were arguing about that.

the actual point I was discussing was a brand new GRC being a better buy at ~$38k than a 15 year old STI at ~$30k. ****, even if the only option is a Circuit at ~$45k vs a 15 year old STI at ~$30, that's still a better buy even though the Circuit is just some fake leather and parts to make it look different.

if you want to go off on some tangent about how certain manufacturers distribute cars to dealers I suppose you can find someone who is willing to argue with you.

neat how that works.
No tangent at all. Very neat. But your anecdotal experience is not the norm in the real world. It is just your opinion, as is this:

It is neat that you think i was arguing my opinion is better than yours. But i was not. In fact i was making a statement to the other e-bro that one cannot just order a base GRC with perf package for 1180$ extra and get it. One is left to buy what was distributed to the market and dealers in whatever setup it may be. That is a fact, not my opinion.

So your bolded statement is your opinion, not a fact. And that is what i was arguing or rather correcting you about. I care not for your opinions, everyones got one. But you misrepresented facts, just like other e-bro.

So this dealer contacts me back, says it’s still available something about the guy’s financing fell through. lol

Then I said, cool, I’m seeing this sort of mileage around 24k, this is what I’m confortable with. Their response was a snarky “well then go buy one of those because we are staying firm at 27k”… lol

Should have just gave him a list of what you need and price, then waited a day/week/month and they call you back when they have it. Neat how that works. I learned it on an online forum from some guy.

"Neat how that works" is more of a "neat WHEN that works." There are dealers out there that are not necessarily more hungry, but more willing to work with you.

Now, both you and samagon need to kiss and make up, and move on. Life's too short.

holy poop. you need some help.

an anecdote is NOT opinion.

an anecdote is a recounting of an actual event.

to expand upon the definition (as it pertains to this discussion), it is a single point of data that someone could use to help inform their own decision.

yes, which that person has shown you that in fact, these cars are easy to get spec'd exactly like that, whether you can order them or not makes no difference. they are available to buy.

the bolded statement is not an opinion, that is exactly how it worked for me, which is an anecdote.

anyone should be able to have a similar experience.

however, I can absolutely see how you would have a very different experience. based on your interactions in this thread, if I were a sales guy, and you came in my store looking for a car that is spec'd exactly how you want it, I wouldn't bend over backwards to help you, I'd just tell you what we have available for you. you either buy what I have, or you walk and I can go get a commission off someone who is much nicer and easier to work with.

and that is what an opinion looks like.

best you'll get from me is I'll just drop the subject, and out of respect for the rest of the community, I'll do just that.

I don’t know why that guy is getting so hung up on not being able to order a car when there are 100+ to choose from in inventory. It’s a limited production car, so that availability is pretty good. So what if you have to drive a few hours to get it. If I want a black GRC with performance pack I can literally go to a dealer right now and buy it.

Because it doesn’t have a Subaru badge on it.

For anyone with a VB thats interested:

The aftermarket is yet again fixing what Subaru took away. Dual and Single Beam C-lights will be available this Holiday season from JDMuscle / Import Image Racing. Single Beam as described by Derek at IIR, will possibly have more Led "fillers" near the single center bulb.

You absolutely can.

But you cant do above for Core pricing + 1180$ like you claimed. It's gonna run you 39K+. So thats 36K + 3000$. Math, real world skill.

Gotta love how potent the FA24DIT is. It is crazy how much power they left on the table (unlike the 3 pot from the GRC, SMH). Smart move on Subaru's part to increase the displacement and not go crazy with the boost out of the box. What a fantastic engine!

Corolla GR can do that too, just do cams and valves. Easy stuff, no major mods like WRX.
