Some people don't care. If you bought a dozen bitcoin at $0.20 and it's now worth $800k, you might not care about a $14k markup.

Idk. Even though I don't feel like we are, apparently we're really frugal. We don't have a kid yet (soon), and our house is only 1/4th of MY salary as opposed to combined income (my wife's monthly takehome after taxes and 401k is double mine). We don't have car payments, etc. I still don't feel like we have the amount of ^&(% you money I'd be comfortable with before taking on these types of purchases. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't really matter how much money we did have. I am obsessed with getting a good deal, not just under current market, but historically.

Ergo, any time the market does some weird dumb **** like currently, it's simply just a time of "we're not buying anything."

Only time I'd adjust that is if I feel like it's not just temprary and this is actually just how things are going to be from now on. I certainly hope that's not the case, though, because poor people are in for one HELL of a donging if it is. New goods will only be bought by upper middle class + people, and that's horribly unsustainable IMO.
I get the rage, honestly do. Many of us are similar in we are frugal on x and y, so that we can do z. But you mentioning that graphics card craziness. Dude I just had to put up with this madness on a dishwasher. Mine crapped out. They only seem to last 7, maybe 8 years. Due to parts shortages, etc, it was not financially worth it to me to d with it. I’ve fixed say my clothes washer before. Was a bad cold water inlet valve. $50 and some garage tools and voila, back to op. But I go into BB and the dude is all “We won’t have that one until December, that other one January” and I’m doing this in the store I tried all the reset procedures on mine, did everything I could. But time is money, the thing is 8 years old and I don’t have the time to hackathon the thing. Appliance repair truck rolls + parts it just wasn’t worth it. I couldn’t believe the bs at the store. I’m like holy mf f, let me just get an appliance and get out of here.

I don’t care about society crap being closed. Could care less about restaurants, bars, or stick and ball events but I have to draw the line at kitchen appliances. Too much YOLO going on to this day still. It won’t hold. We will see a pull back, things will normalize, just not yet. Throw covid in there on multiple fronts. FMC delays, constrained supply. I mean in normal times a FMC is ADM, and a bunch of Tom foolery anyways. This is like gas on the fire. All any of us can do is wait it out. I’m not getting gouged on things. If an appliance breaks, I have to pay the fiddler. Something else breaks around here well we are going on 2 years of this madness soon. Just trying to make it.

Our Dishwasher broke last month... Bought a new one because it was 20+ years old anyway. Home Depot had a fancy Samsung for like 25% off ($900) and free delivery plus it was actually in stock *shrug*

They did say a lot of other appliance's are years away from being restocked though

does anyone intend on putting a turbo on their new brz. supposedly HKS is able to get 350hp with their turbo and exhaust upgrade. that is a better power to weight ratio for the brz too.. is something so simple the real reason STI fears making one of their own

I mean, it's really not that simple. It adds cost. Look at the Nissan Z, coming in at $40k, or the Supra at mid-to-high $40k. If it were easy, I'm sure Subaru/Toyota would have an upper trim with everything everyone thinks they want and ask a high price for it.

Also most owners of the Twins who've added forced induction over the years eventually move on to something else. Tons of used kits out there. My buddy just installed a secondhand Edelbrock supercharger to his 2017 BRZ. He enjoys it for now, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he immediately ditched it for a manual Supra or a good deal on a well-sorted Nissan Z. Or maybe the STI or GR Corolla will be appealing, who knows.

I'd like to test drive the new BRZ, but I'm definitely not in the market until I see the facelifted 202X tS.

I'm still trying to find my way into a sports car in the 3-5ish year range, and a BRZ is high on the list because of the 2+2 layout and me having 2 kids. Not that we'd use this car all the time, but for days when I need to do daycare drop off, I could still take the BRZ, but couldn't take something like a Z or s2K. Although a used M2 might be a bit higher on the list...

The stock power/acceleration on the brz isn't up to snuff for me. I'd add a supercharger or turbo to it, for sure.

Turbocharging adds weight, and heat, two things you don't want. The simpler solution is a blower. Turbo you need piping, cooling, just complexing the thing too much.

Ya, a Supercharger is IMO better for the BRZ's. Especially the quality kits that replace the intake manifold like the Edelbrock and Harrop kits.

Local dealer had a 22 BRZ Limited on the lot. It was a sold car so couldn't drive/sit in it but he did open the doors so I could see inside.

I like the front end and the interior was definitely nicer than last gen. The rear of the car left a lot to be desired for me. I think the previous gen rear was better. The tail lights make it look like an Accord or Civic. A rear spoiler would help.

Hope to drive one at some point.

a lot of the new subarus have "honda" vibes to them...the 2022 legacy looks like the 2022 civic...the 2022 WRX/BRZ tail lights is all civic...

Default 2022 BRZ now arriving at Dealers...

It’s simple, people who make their living on social media will overpay for the car and make it up in one or two videos. Meanwhile the dealership sees that one sucker paid that much and now they know that others will too, maybe not what the first person paid but half or maybe a bit more/less.

There is still one dealership in So Cal with a $15k markup on the outgoing Type R, why? Because none will be made in 2022. They had 8 on the lot last month, they are down to 5.

It's Mighty Car Mods looking at the first GR BRZ to land in NSW. I believe the intentionally ironic clickbait title is referencing the very tight panel fitment and the quick & dirty lube job performed by a SoAus lube tech once Moog gets a little too aggressive without letting her warm up first.

Thanks for the summary - the video is gone. I would have watched it if I knew it was Aussies. Clickbait titles annoy me so much.. like Scotty Kilmer. I love that guy for some reason, but his video titles make me see red mist.

I guess Subaru and Toyota are staggering the rollout of the BRZ and GR86 quite a lot, but Toyota has finally updated the USA site to show the GR86. Clicking around in there now...

He got a couple fingers stuck in the rearward front wheel well vent, ended up using hand sanitizer to lube up his fingers to get them out.

I saw a red BRZ today in person and grabbed some pics. I like it. Seems even lower than the first gen. I don't think my body can even fall into one at this point.
