But with all that said those cars would only "dominate" when horse power comes into play. The Detroit speed car gets its ass handed to him every time he comes out to CCRSCCA events, and at z max we have some of the largest fastest courses.

Sensational tv is sensational, no surprise. Been watching the show myself as of late and its awesome to see great cars from different markets and years.
I can't help but to enjoy how they rag on the drivers, I think that seems to be what's causing some the distaste with the show for some of you. I think it's overlooked that psychological fortitude is a huge aspect of racing and them talking smack is a great test in that regard. Props to 04trailsti for giving them a good run and serving. Hopefully we'll see more Subaru's on the show to take the redneck's jars full of change! |

I watched it in the hotel the other night. Okay I guess. Probably won't watch again but it was entertaining to watch the Audi wagon beat the Year One Mustang.

I saw that last night too. Makes me wonder if he wouldn't have miss shifted if he would of stood a chance. Pretty entertaining to watch. For all the power and torque these muscle cars have its nice to see the imports do so well.
The GTR was awesome as it should be. |

As far as I've seen on the show, they don't list out all mods, they may call out one or two but not the full list... so I'm wondering what the black sti actually had done to it. |

As for the upcoming event I'd love to be there but I'm currently deployed and I'm sure the course will favor the muscle cars with minimum turns and a long straight so they can take full advantage of their power. OPTIMAJIM, how come the price is so high for the event? We did a Subaru challenge there last fall at CMP and the entry was only $70 if I remember correctly. if you say it's because the competition then I'd say come out to a CCR event in Charlotte and I promise there's better competition. |

We don't set the prices on any of the qualifiers, but our own Faceoff events. To be honest with you, no one has ever asked about the prices before. Was the Subaru Challenge event a full day on the racetrack, followed by autocrossing the next day? The way most of those events go, there's usually more track time to be had, than cars willing to keep running by the end of the day.
That event is also part of the BFGoodrich contingency program, which pays out for the fastest three times on BFGs in both the road course and autocross. Run the fast time on BFGs in both of those events and they'll basically pay you $200 against your $150 entry fee. Between Blackhawk Farms and Road America (as well as parking lots all over the place), we have more than enough SCCA events in our area, but our event focuses primarily on street-legal cars, versus cars that are used primarily on the racetrack, but could be driven on the street. That show is pretty lame. Only reason I watched it was because I went to high school and used to be friends with the girl that is marrying the guy with the gtr. Caught the sti episode after that. If she didn't tell me about the show being on I would have never watched it.

So... i watched a marathon of this 'show' on Saturday.. Yea.. 250HP import going against 650HP muscle. They leave the 'rolling start' and the muscle beats the other car to the first corner almost every time. If the import was decent the redneck pushed to hard and slid the ass end wide and either spun or pulled a Yancy and crashed that kids M5. The cars that mattered.. Lambo, GTR... they pulled out the 'asskicker' car with a professional driver. Pretty entertaining show for what it is. The Audi wagon that crapped on the 'ass kicker' car was also hysterical. "My Porsche track car would walk all these cars, so I just brought the wife's car" I chuckled. The 18 yr old kid in the Exige was also pretty entertaining.

I'm watching this show right now. And I watched an sti lose to a Camaro because the driver missed a gear. And the host of the show really bashed the subaru brand as a whole. In that situation it was the driver that lost the race, not the car.

Ive seen a few episodes and it seems like they have had 2 or 3 subies on it. None of them got destroyed despite having half as much power as the rednecks. The kid with the black 06-07 sti certainly held his own. I would like to see some 500-600 hp subies or evos wipe the floor with their full race suspension supercharged muscle cars.
