Default 04 engine into 02 wrx help please

Hi everyone, I just picked up my first wrx (2002) not to long ago. I loved them for a long time and finally found one at the right price and right time, but due to a timing belt slip I am in need of a new motor. I may still rebuild mine but in the mean time I found a 04 motor and just want to know whether it would work or not. So i guess my question is will a 2004 wrx motor swap into a 2002 wrx with out any problems I would still be using the 02 tranny, 02 ecu, ect... also i have a cobb ap (02-03) that why i dont want to change ecu's. This maybe a stupid question but like I said Im new to them and am not sure. I did sum research and haven't really found any differences that would be a problem but i could be wrong that's why im ask.

Thanks.

yes should go in fine with no problem, just drop the motor in and prime the engine and your good to go.

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure myself if it would all be compatible (wirer up and bolt in) I was pretty sure the motors didn't really change but was not sure about the 02 ecu and harness matching up with the 04 and if they all had the same # and same type of sensors
