Question Vento Gt VW?

Hey, I have seen this cute girl in a 95-97ish VW jetta on my way to work. On the back it says Vento GT (her licence plate says vntovxn) What is a Vento GT? It is a nice looking jetta, black with tinted windows and nice wheels. Just wonderin.

Vento is what the Jetta is called outside of the US.

Unlike in the US, the Jetta didn't sell too well in Europe. Most people opted for the Golf. When the second generation was launched, they re-named it Vento. Unfortunately the Vento wasn't anymore successfull than the Jetta.
The latest (and current) generation received yet another name, it is called the Bora, and it seems to be doing a little better.

Probably has something to do with the way Americans perceive hatchbacks as cheap econocars, whereas Europeans love them for their practicality.

Jetta is called Bora in Europe, not Vento.

Cool

Correction!!!!

The Vento WAS the name of the Jetta III in Europe. Generation IV (current model) is now know as the BORA.

thank you very much,

Mariano
