With the Turbo Tech that they got know they are good turbos. But all the Subaru turbos in about 6 weeks are going to become relics of the past including mine and everybody else on this board. The New Borgs are going to spool and hit faster and harder than anything else on the market by about 500 to 700 rps faster on a single scroll desighn and up to a 1000 rpms faster on a twinscroll desighn and cost about the same as Garrett offerings at this time.

Most tuners and shops have a disservice to the Subaru community by not doing R&D on the current Borg turbos. Basically you got to have a cusotm Borg setup or get the Twinscroll full race setup. Even the current line of Borgs are superior to the Garretts in almost every way. They spool the same or faster hit harder and provide more horsepower and better throttle respond intween boost for about $500 less than thier Garrett counterparts. Shops and tuners are mostly Garrett fanboys, who stick to the same old reciepe. I love Goodspeed but they even question my turbo selection, you dont have to be a Genuis to figure out the Borgs are better. My Borg S259 is supposley comparible to a GT30R but if you look at the numbers its rated at 60lb turbo compared to the 52lb garrett GT30R and guess what is spools the same with better response and much more power, and the best part its 500 dollars less and totally rebuildable.

I'm actually getting really excited about the new BW units that are set to debut in November. I think by the time I think to upgrade (middle of next year), they will be in cars and be tuned and figured out.

I have no clue about pricing, but they are supposed to be released on November 2nd. Goeff at Full Race has been promising us great things. I'm excited to see what's in store.

Wow you guys are harsh. He just bought a brand new rotated kit from AMS Performance and now you guys are trying to tell him he made some big mistake. Maybe this discussion belongs in another thread, not his build log.

I never said he made a big mistake at all. I never said anything of the sort. His car is going to be sweet; there is not question. I was just responding to ASU's mention of BW units.

i personally think the AMS kit is just about the nicest kit out there for non twin scroll setups

do you have a link to your dyno graph? I'd like to see back to back what a BW does against a Garrett GT30R. I'm close to having funds for my 20g but a BW turbo might be worth looking into.

Yeah I know you aren't, but just the way ASU responded sounds like he was implying Shady made a mistake. You can tell by the way Shady responded that he wasn't happy with what was being discussed in his thread.

I just think we should move this discussion into it's own thread.

Yes I have talked to many very knowledgeable shops about this kit and all of them agree that it is about the best kit out there for a single scroll rotated kit. It appears that the dyno charts out there back that up too.

Your car looks amazing I can tell you that much. Todd does top notch work and is the only reason I am taking my car there. From my understanding, he is the one that single handedly built your car.

Should be lots of fun once you get your engine situation resolved.

Sorry I haven't did any kind of updates! I went to the shop Saturday and it was sad to see the engine pulled out and everything torn apart again after the guys at goodspeed did amazing job with the engine bay. The car also was on the front corner of the shop by the wall so I didn't even try to take any pics of it. Maybe I'll ask the guys to post some pics they have of it for me. I think I going with the cosworth short block but I'll keep you guys updated.

I have them doing a cosworth build for my car and a few other things... I know that once they are done... I will have no worries at all. Its like have a bullet proof motor being installed by a bullet proof team..

Thanks ASU! I wasn't really thinking you were harping on my build I was just saying I'm happy with my turbo kit. But your right turbos keep getting better and better....... And if those full race turbos do what there saying I can always upgrade.

Hey man. That sucks that there isnt an e85 pump anywhere near you. Its really the way to go. My brother converted to e85 and is still running a vf39. He is basically stage 2 with a bigger tmic and at 25 or 26psi at sea level he was at 365whp and 405wtq. It runs soo good but the only bad part is he goes through his gas twice as quick. Have you thought of doing methanol or something along those lines??

Yeah, the only e85 pump I've noticed is the one on Olive and the 101 in Peoria/Glendale.

yeah its sucks living in a small town! but a methanol setup is in the works a little bit later down the road. the car will be running two or three different maps so when i am up in the city i can run a higher octane and feel all that extra hp im missing with that 91 pump water fuel. lol but first things first get the car put back together.
