There has been some mixed results with the blast plates, some people have had no issues installing them and some have had to clearance slightly, even if they seem to have the exact same setup. It could be because there is quite a bit of play in the motor mount bolt holes and the trans cross member. Maybe some guys had the motor more towards one side than others? Maybe some of the sheet metal there is not exact from car to car because its normally not a critical area? Hard to say but a few taps with a ball peen hammer seems to be a quick fix and not remove any paint.

I can say that my Forester has plenty of room for them due to the trans and engine being about 1.5" lower in the chassis than the impreza.

haha - emailed! with good news! Good to hear about the auto-x monster! No prob. on the fuel rails - we can do a set of our off-the shelf rails, or we can do custom rail lengths since we tap the end and injector fittings in-house.

how can I turn that into a or better yet ???

Gas tank removal is nooooo fun! There's a check valve on top of them that sometimes goes bad - manual says pull the tank. Uhhhh...I'd rather leave it unchecked

We are working on better directions for the Blast Plates now, but one important point is that the upper-most m10 bolt head should be facing the passenger side. You can also ensure that both the transmission cross brace and the motor mounts are zero'd out, as they both allow for adjustment. PM if you have any specific fitment questions, or shoot over a call!

Thanks goodness!
Yes have 8 mm spacers, running a crazy ported stock intake but cosworth in the future soon

And yeah 40-50 pound weight savings by using 10 gallon fuel cell and no more gas tank!!

50 pounds is a good bit off of one of these oinkers. Good to know on the spacers - this will help wit the fab up.

I'm still trying to muster the strength to lift this thing! lol But we've had that beast in the engine bay several times already. If you could somehow eliminate the entire right hand strut tower....in the words of Lumbergh...that would be greaaaaaat j/k

CR-Kai's in 18x8.5 are what I have on the STI. They came with it, fortunately. I am not sure I would spring for a set of these new.

Awesome looking wheels and lighter than the factory BBS 17s even though the wheel is bigger.

Enjoy!

Just wondering since this revision, I know you said my plates were about to ship the other day...my car is a 2007 WRX. You had mentioned some have more room than others ans such..guess i'm wondering if they had shipped yet or if your were shipping me the revised set or if I would need the revision to clear.

Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the interest. We don't have any great pics of the entire rig unfortunately; just some stuffed in engine bays

It's understandable. People change their minds. This makes it tough to decide between taking deposits and just getting full payment later on in the production process; if you take deposits, then you have to refund them if the people don't follow through with the rest of the payment. if you wait to collect, then you can end up with a lot of people that back out, yet you still have to base your production #'s on the signed up count. Tricky.

We're going ahead with the revision just to make sure every chassis (that we know of) is compatible.

We've been a little buried with Blast Plate revision work, but we've been fooling with yours. Verdict (for fitment reasons) : 1.75" to 2"

it's all good on the BlastPlate front now! No worries! And what I meant was 1.75" primaries with 2" secondaries/up-pipe. This is better

It depends what kind of meats are on there. Shop fozzy has a manual made by fully converting a power rack; it's a bit of a beast! I think they're bearable if you don't have like 295 Hoosier's or something, you don't parallel park on the regular and don't really worry about quick transitions. have to do it the right way though; no p.s. line looping and what not.

sweet on header and up pipe. hopefully it flows enough for huge power but it should help with the spool for sure . we shall see. im super excited.
