Much easier there. Plenty of stations in tomah, eau claire, Milwaukee, Chicago, etc.

Btw if you ever need to go to Cincinnati or Lexington I can get you there on E easy too. I went to import alliance on E and it was actually really easy just had to call some stations

I've seen it mid 3s in Chicagoland, but also have seen it at 2.74, so it depends where you are I guess. My local station I frequent is 2.99 and tests 90% every time.

Just my thoughts, but you should throw the stock wheels back on and paint that front mount black. Would look even more stealth. Too bad you couldn't delete the front plate too and maybe shave that part off the bumper.

I'll probably run the stock wheels during winter. I've considered painting the FMIC black, but I think the silver looks fine with a silver car. I could just cut off that part on the bumper for the license plate, but without a proper shave and paint it will probably look just as bad.

Holiday brand is always the cheapest in MN. Usually about $0.80 cheaper than 87 octane. Right now that puts it under $2.50. Other stations are much closer to pump gas, so they're probably around $3 right now.

I think it's time to go bigger. My stock location GTX3071 hybrid is now up for sale.

Turbo is sold, out of the car, and boxed up (original box with foam).

It appears I had a bit of an uppipe to turbo leak. That could explain the late-ish spool.

I've got one myself, gonna smoke it to make sure where it is- I'm suspecting the flex section. Mine is bad enough that my wideband is reading lean at idle, did yours?

No, it didn't. And I checked all around the header/uppipe/turbo/EWG with the car idling and I didn't notice any leaks. It may have only leaked under boost.

yeah, I think a gasket would have to be almost missing in order to throw the AFR on wideband like mine is, further pointing to the flex. I can actually hear mine too..

so, next turbo going to sit crooked?

No, I am definitely not on the EFR bandwagon. They just seem like all hype to me.

I'm not totally convinced yet... but I have three customers just getting up and running on EFR setups in three flavors, 7670, 8374 and the 9180. The 7670 and 9180 guys I have running with a little base tuning with some boost while they waiting on final fuel system components to come in. I'm pretty impressed with the spool and power on low boost so far.

I was thinking about going to a 35r setup on my car but I'm starting to lean more towards the 8374 now.

I'll be curious what you end up with. Any ideas or options you are leaning towards right now?

The size, complexity, availability, and cost of the EFR turbo's has essentially ruled them out for me. I don't even consider them. I'm all for bang for your buck and I'm not willing to pay a premium to maybe get a few hundred RPM's of spool. That's just my opinion though.

I still think the journal bearing PTE turbos are far and away the best value for the money. It's too bad that they're pushing all their new offerings over to ball bearing only. At that point they are getting close in price to most everything else.

The new turbo will be something in the size range of the DOM 4, FP Red, GT3576, etc. That's the plan at least. I suppose that's similar to a 7670 as well. It would be hard to compare since I'm guessing their setup is far different than mine.

Yup, very good points on the EFR. You could consider the older airwerks turbos like the s300sx (83-75). Its journal bearing, oil cooler, much cheaper, etc. Its been on my radar.

You are saying stock location then? Justin put a Dom 4.0 on his RS with the new motor. 9:1 CR, S2 cams, etc. We maxed the turbo out and it put down 580 whp @ 30 psi on the superflow dyno. Its damn quick for a stock location turbo car.
