I have a of success with this replacement BOV which comes with 3 springs and really holds boost well compared to the stock unit which has turned to a real pos platic junk bov

Its made by Forge and I am a dealer for these and have them in stock if anyone is looking for one

BTW - the car in question is a Stage II LGT '07

with Ecutek Flash Can reflash and SPT intake Borla T'B exhuast

here is the before and after dyno sheet - showing tuned vs untuned with all mods

Yep..........

So Al, do all your Stage 2 LGT's make the same power but more torque than a Stage 2 STI?

A stage II STI would usually make slightly less TQ and about 20 - 30 more whp on our dyno due to the superior TMIX and slightly laarger turbo

I never post in threads like these, but come on guys, give al a break.

he never made any power claims etc etc. he just said that this forge valve is better than the stocker. Al has tuned m car before and gave me straight-up, no nonsense answers that have always helped me.

for someone who pushes these cars to their limit almost every day for a living, and does not explicitly claim ANY power gain over stock but simply better operation, the typical nasioc hater crowd should relax a bit and consider the time al took to make this post and share his experience. if you don't believe him, thats cool. but why all the hate..

my $.02

hehe I just saw your video and that plastic POS plastic bov. I wonder why they decided to do that? Mitsubishi figured it out on the EVO VIII's and the IX came with aluminum ones.

I would like to see a graph which shows the difference in power with the aftermarket BOV compared to standard. A graph of a completely tuned car compared to standard is not what I am looking for in this thread....

I highly doubt the stock one is leaking at the (quite) low boost levels that can be used in the MY08 WRX, but I will check later in my car!

Mark.

The Mitsu plastic one holds easily around 1.4 - 1.5 bar without leaking, this boost level you won't run on the WRX with stock turbo....

Hey Al, how much is the Forge BOV, my stocker does not hold boost well. How do I go about purchasing one from you? Thanks man!

No. The car is clearly knocking at 4000 rpm. Anyone can see the dip in trq and the dip in hp.

You would have to be blind to NOT see that... but, then again, people never cease to amaze me.

Do stock 07 LGTs usually make ~245whp and ~265wtq? Isn't this more than Subaru claims at the crank?

Per Subaru's website:

Quote:
2008 Legacy 2.5 GT Limited
Starting at $28,295*

A powerful engine and enriched amenities make the Legacy 2.5 GT Limited inviting to the senses. Sporty additions like sport-design electroluminescent lighting and performance-design front seats only add to the thrill of the drive.

Standard Features:
243-hp turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine
241 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm
http://http://www.subaru.com/shop/ov...mmand=overview

EDIT: Nevermind. I see that this is Stage 2 "tuned vs. untuned"

Stock cars make 170 to 200whp TOPS. The trans pulls alow of power out of whp. STG2 cars make 250whp give or take. The turbocharger and intercooler do not have the capacity to make 300whp when coupled with the transmission loss.
